What a dullfest after all those fears about wreckfest.
The layout is nice, but I'd rather have Nürbrugring as European GP.

This was a terrible Formula One race, give it another year or 2 like this and hopefully it will be off the calendar.

I think the only problem that destroyed the race was the DRS on the long main-straight.

The thing is the track is pretty good (but ruined by DRS), and I have to admit that I like the background.
The old buildings are way better than artificial harbor.
I agree I think the track itself is pretty good.

Its far better than Valencia (And most other street circuits) which was flat, featureless & had no interesting corners or sections. This is fast, has some interesting bits, some really fast sections, some really challenging corners & quite a bit of undulation.

The problem with the F1 race is the DRS zone & the tyre/fuel management. Give them better tyres & a bit more fuel & drivers would be pushing harder which could end up with more mistakes as we saw through practice/qualifying. When your driving around well below the ultimate limit managing tyres/fuel then there's far less chance your going to be making a mistake.

What was David Hobbs's top 3 picks? Don't have a DVR so I can't rewind.

Who cares? He's an over the hill commentator who gets near 100% of his details wrong.

But I think he said Vettel - Raikkonen - Perez, with Rosberg and Ricciardo taking each other off on lap 1 and Lewis also failing to finish.

Did anyone else notice the few grandstands were all almost empty, and that there were 3-4 guys on a balcony constantly in camera shot who had their backs turned throughout the race?

what a dissappointment this turned out to be. Probably also had to do with the drama at Le Mans, but this race had so much expectation. No incidents, no crashes, overtakings were mostly boring.

Luckily we had the communiciation with Lewis and Kimi to keep it a bit entertaining.

Lewis had a d-rate issue, I wasn't aware Nico had any issues as it wasn't mentioned by the US broadcaster. From what I understand from someone over at Fastlane, both Nico and Lewis had similar issues.
