Must say I'm pretty excited about the titanium skid blocks being trialed this weekend.

I really wish they'd stop trying to improve the 'show'. It's fine.

I think that's the worst thing I've seen in a while. Maybe except that medals thing.

Almost even more unfair than the double points in last race-rule.

Fucking idiots, seriously..

Well formula one is a constantly evolving sport which is one of the reasons I love it and all other motorsports, if you want to watch a sport stuck in it's ways and against any sort of change, just watch the world cup

I survived the Schumacher domination years and kept watching every GP. So my reaction to all these new rules and protests: meh, whatever, I'll watch the next one anyway.

I like it. No more steward investigations for minor incidents should be a good improvement. Standing restarts maybe a bit too extreme, they should've tried a Nascar style restart first were they come to the line very slowly and only go when the green flag waves. But that would probably result in a big crash.

With all these things to improve the spectacle, surely banning tyre warmers should be a no brainer now. It's easy and it would improve the spectacle after a pitstop.

Shameless plugging mode but I had this written last night (edited slightly today after restart rules news) about why F1 should stop chasing the 'show' so much

I'm pleased FIA and Whiting are coming to their senses and actually back out of the obsessional tendency to always have someone to blame for a collision. It's a good decision that one should be 100% guilty of a collision, and that mere 70-30, 60-40 or 51-49 cases do not mean the "more" responsible driver is the sole reason for the crash and thus deserves a penalty.
In hindsight you can always find some tiny movements without which the collision wouldn't have happened. But to predict correctly those tiny movements - that happen in hundredths of a second - of another driver is sometimes impossible, therefore accidents happen.

FIA's approach to fix F1 is like J. Morelli's approach to women.

Someone elsewhere mentioned a good point about the standing start after the SC periode:

What about the marbles on the track? Half of the grid would be harmed by this so I can't imagine anyone agreeing with this rule.

Indycar has cleaning vehicles in every caution, wouldn't be much work to have one of those vehicles sweep the grid clean during that SC period

Keep it a running start, but bunch up the bastards in rows of 2 with the leader on the inside, nobody accelerates until the lights go green.

When going for stupid, always go full stupid. It makes the idea - and the outcome - more hilarious.

It's just a terrible idea, on so many levels. Reactionary to the point where they clearly haven't thought it through
