Tough? No hissy fits?

Not a woman.

you think you are funny? :yuk:

I think he just meant Simona isn't a woman in the marketable sense that Danica is. Don't be so sensitive.

I actually laughed.

Fact is, no matter how shit Dancia might be, hot chicks and fast cars have gone hand in hand since the dawn of cars. Usually the women are standing around the cars looking pretty, now there actuially is a very easy on the eyes woman driving one of the things. Guess what, sponsors will be lining up all day to be associated with that, cause it means that when she does her Sports Illistrated photo shoot wearing team overalls with the sponsors name on it, said sponsors will be getting way more coverage than supporting the more talented and lesser attractive driver that is langushing down the back of the grid.

And if they are both languishing down the back of the grid? Its hottie over nottie, cause the hottie will be gaining way more exposure.

Is Simona a more talented driver? Probably. Is she more attractive than Danica? Debatable, but probably no. Is she a mass marketable American? No. Will she gain more exposure than Danica? No. Would she deserve the seat more than Danica? Probably yes. But that is why Hass wants Danica, cause it will likely rope sponsors in just long enough that they might be halfway competitve before they realise how shit Danica is.

The general male public is misogynic, hence the ads and marketing relying on hot girls.

Is that a good thing for society as a whole? Not at all. But remember, business men are not here to build a better, more fair society. They're here to make money, and if that means exploiting the inherent intolerance of their public, they'll go right there.

Now, dicksplaash, I know you're a fervent defender of women rights - heck, Sweden is a leading country regarding the stuff. But you may want to tune down the white-knightery a little bit. Do you ever get this offended when we rip on a male driver for "not having enough balls to try the move" or for "being a little bitch with no personality"?

Girls are now strong enough to defend their rights, and they also have their fair share of dumb jokes about us males and how "stupid", "simplistic", "monomaniacs", "brutes", "irresponsible", gender we are. It's all good fun, as long as we both have same access to jobs, same pay, same duties regarding family and children, which I'm all for and which is being put in place in most developed countries without the need of excessive excitement over small talk.

tl;dr: Danica in an F1 cockpit please.

Yeah we've spoken about the double-standards before. Danica is only marketable because she is a semi-atttractive semi-decent FEMALE race car driver. But don't mention those things because she should be treated equal to any MALE race car driver. But if she was male or treated equally, she wouldn't have made it as a professional race car driver.

Leave dicksplaash alone, either it's his time of the month or his vagina is hurting. Or both.

What? He had every fucking right to make the comments he did in this thread and to say he was "white knighting" for taking offense to what was an uncalled for and offensive comment is fucking bullshit. Shouldn't be surprised though.

Having trouble understanding the irony in my joke? What you've written is perhaps a little over the top. Dicksplaash is one of my favorite members here and elsewhere, he knows me and my humour (or lack of) very well and my comment was just poking fun at him and the subject he was standing up for.

No no mate, it was an over reaction to a minor tongue in check joke. And we will quite rightly call that bullshit out.

And we're all magically meant to know this? Majority of my post wasn't directed at you anyway. Yeah I went a little overboard, but it really gets on my nerves when people start pulling out the "don't be so sensitive" bs when someone is standing up for what is a pretty major issue in society.

How does this forum survive the F1 winter without going into melt down mode I don't know? Pardon the pun, but let's stop bitching bout this and have constructive comments about Lewis Hamilton please.......
