and what about the brazilians with money, not even a chance to bid the spots to drive?

Senna's had discussions with both Force India and Caterham, although he seemed downcast of his chances. Razia is unlikely.

So Bianchi might go to FI, with a help from Ferrari

Yes. That seems to depend on 2014.

maybe that is why Hulkenberg fled?

I think he moved to Sauber simply because the Swiss is a better team

About the FI drivers, I wish Paul DiResta was ditched and Jay-Bee Jules Bianchi wasn't chosen as well. I would much prefer Kamui Kobayashi and Jimmy A Jaime Alguersuari in there, but this is almost impossible. That all if this team survive, obviously, given the lastest rumours.

On another note, picking up in a discussion that happened in the end of last year _when "DeCesaris fan" posted about his non-excitement with F1 despite the past season being considered one of the bests ever(even the best by some people)_ I wasn't even nearly as excited as one would expect a fan to be last year, as well, and the trend keeps for this year, so far. I don't remember ever having such a "whatever" attitude about the new F1 cars as this time.

January31th-February4th would make me ansious in almost all other years, but I'm far from looking for it that much, right now. I guess some other people feel the same

Hulkenberg is moving because Sauber puts him in the shop window for Ferrari, assuming Felipe has a poor season of course.

Nope. 2012 was amazing. Sometimes the tyre wear is a little irritating but it's better than one stop boredoms. I think we could do with 17/18 races not 20 - by the time it was Korea/India, I was a little apathetic because I knew those races would be crap. Although if we were to drop 2 or 3 events, it wouldn't be those too.

I'm massively looking forwards to 2013, seeing the new cars - even if they won't be that different - and any new liveries.

Oh, and Kolles is actually a bloody good man. He gets put down, but he pretty much single handedly made sure HRT made the start of 2010.

There was a good article in Autosport this week about HRT and Kolles role, it kind of changed my opinion of him.

His Le Mans escapades weren't exactly incredible either, though.

I have an odd feeling myself......

I remember off the back of the 2002 season the FIA did its shake up of the rules and the changes led to a great 2003 season with a close championship battle and three teams being in the hunt for wins regularly.

Then in the off season the media was going crazy, expecting that because there were few rule changes comparative to the season before the teams would close up. They were predicting Williams, Ferrari, Mclaren, Renault and BAR would all win races and be in the fight for the championship in 2004.

What they didn't see coming was Ferrari adapting to the rules designed primarily to slow them down and waltzing away again.

It could happen in 2013 with Red Bull, whatever they lost due to the rules shake up to hurt their performance advantage will be regained elsewhere.

So because of that I'm always suspicious of media build up predicting a fantastic season and rules stability meaning the teams will close up.
When we get a few races in and one team isn't demonstrably ahead of the others (probably past the start of the European season as that usually leads to updates and second generations of cars, etc) then I'll believe we're in for another good one, until then, my expectations remain low.

Haha, I thought I was the only one with that feeling.

Let's hope it won't turn out that way :(

That might happen, but I wouldn't expect it to be Red Bull.

I'm also thinking that way also.

Better to start with low expectations and have those exceeded, than high expectations and be disappointed.

I think it's inevitable, isn't it? The top teams can split 2013/14 but smaller teams have to focus on one or the other, or compromise hugely on both. It's only since 2008/9 that we've become accustomed to having the top 10 separated by less than half a second on occasion. Maybe there'll be a greater field spread to begin with, but it should come down. I don't envisage 2004 style domination, mainly because there's greater quality in the field.

And there's only one tyre manufacturer.

Well yeah I realise it'd be hard for 2002/2004 to happen again (*crosses fingers* *taps on wood* *does other crap that won't help* ) but I was more thinking of a return to 2011 style with one team ahead and the rest close behind.

Racing will still be good with tyres/kers/drs just maybe the championship won't...

But then I can only be proved wrong, and one thing being on this forum for 10 years has taught me is I'm wrong a LOT, so here's hoping :)

Bild are insinuating that Sutil and di Resta are the first choices for FIF1 next year, but di Resta will go should some sort of Kolles-led consortium buy the team, with whoever has the most cash taking the second seat.

I'm not so sure that Sutil is first choice. He might have a few Visa issues.

It's all about the 2014 engines. If the rumours are to be believed that STR is jumping ship to Renault, with Sauber opting for Mercedes, then that leaves Ferrari all alone. Force India want those engines, and Ferrari wants Bianchi in a seat.

There are reports that Toto Wolff has moved from Williams to Mercedes as a replacement for Norbert Haug.
