I dunno, I like Interlagos being the last race.

Why?

Suzuka closing I understand although it's a shitty time for the majority of viewers.

Because of the prime time?

Interlagos as finale >>>> Suzuka as Finale.
Much preferred both the timing and atmosphere for Brazil than Japan.

Suzuka is the classic title decider, either as 2nd to last or last. There is just something magic about the place. Interlagos doesn't have the same effect, as great as the place. As someone who has been following a long time, it's rightful place is at the head of the calendar. Brazil had always been one of the first couple of rounds until 2004

I too like Interlagos as a finale. Suzuka had lots of deciders when it was penultimate round (1987-1991, 2000) so they should just move Abu Dhabi into earlier position in the calendar. Suzuka penultimate and Interlagos last round would be good.

Actually, Monza is the classic title decider ...

I really hope the title is decided in Suzuka/Interlagos so that Abu Dhabi gets its F1 rich Show Race without atmosphere. :yuk:

Previous time as Monza was the title decider was in 1979. Back then it was often European closer, and usually North American rounds left. OK, it's now European closer as well but this year there was four races to go. For some years there was Spa after, and Nürburgring was also late in the season in late 90s.

But then, in season with massive dominance the title has been wrapped up before Monza. Last time when it was really close to be decided in Monza was 1993, as Prost's engine failed with five laps to go. Had he won (he led while retiring) he would have clinched, but the "title race" was on until next round in Estoril where he clinched it by finishing 2nd.

I'd like more Suzuka as season decider. The race happens at late night so only fans watch it, with less bulshit from the commentators

but Interlagos is doing a great job

Please do elaborate your opinion, because I fail to see the logic in that. Why would the commentators talk less bullshit because the race is early? And why is it a good thing fewer people are watching the final race?

Correct, 1979. But Monza hosted the title decider 13 times (1950, 55, 56, 61, 63, 66, 69, 72, 73, 75, 77, 78 and finally 79).
Suzuka is the 80s and 90s classic, since it was decided there in 1987, 88, 89, 90, 91, 96, 98, 99, 2000 and 2003 (10 times), so probably for most of us it is 'the classic', indeed.
Interlagos having hosted the decider in the past 4 years is maybe the 2000s classic, whatever... :p

Funny that Adelaide hosted the decision only twice, 1986 and 1994, but these are probably two of the most reminded (by me, at least) deciders.

I hated Suzuka as a title decider.

I don't know why, the track is OK by modern standards, but there's something missing atmosphere wise, I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it's that you never really seem to see much of the crowds there.

The early morning timeslot (for UK viewers) doesn't help either.
