That more than anything has won the title for Nico in 2016 then

Fired up motivated Lewis is the best driver on the grid. Back foot Lewis self pressures himself into mistakes

Nico meanwhile races more constantly, albeit at a lower level of performance than fired up Lewis and takes much fewer risks.

For Lewis to take blame for something that was essentially not his fault means he's not in the right head space and doesn't bode well for the rest of this season

I dont want to blame any driver at mercedes but ill only say remember Rosberg Alonso Bahrain 2012.
But luckily there was tarmac there, not grass...

But i dont understand whats there to investigate from race controll at all??
Did WEB, VET get some penalties for Turkey 2010 crash, No!
So Mercedes have to sort it out themselfs, just like red bull did back then.

And congratulations Max. I said to my wife after Mercedes crash that Max will win.
Well done, really impressed there :flag:

That's what I think as well. If this turns out to be true I think that championship is gone. I was already surprised how vocal Laura was despite it being a racing situation and at least a 50:50 blame. The more I look at the clip and how the cars are positioned I put the blame on Rosberg. Curious how the Stewart's will handle it

They say it's Nico's fault but the accident proves f1 is too dangerous and more safety is needed.

Hamilton might think - German team supporting German driver.

Can he make the step to Ferrari? Or can Vettel veto him?

Am I the only one thinking it was Lewis' fault? Nico had the insine line covered and when Lewis had positioned himself he was on the grass.

Great analysis of the Lewis/Nico crash by Anthony Davidson on the Skypad:

I think both hold some responsibility but ultimately I'd call it a racing incident & would personally not like to see any sort of penalty handed to either from stewards or team.

When Nico moved over the way he did Lewis should have realized he wasn't going to be left room & backed out of it. Nico was aggressive & perhaps didn't leave as much room as he could have but I also think he was caught out with the closing speed as well as been a bit preoccupied fiddling with dials & switches on the wheel.

They're about ready to mop the blood up.

From Nico's constant state of menstruation, no doubt

No. Lewis divebombed into a gap that was already closing. He wanted to get the lead back ASAP and messed up, taking them both out. Yeah, Nico was playing with his switches on his steering wheel, but he had the 1 move to cover the line.

Meanwhile.....

BRILLIANT TO SEE MAX WIN!

Same here. An amazing drive though. As a Ricciardo fan am gutted...but what a waste of space Kimi is in that Ferrari. He hasn't even looked remotely like he can/wants to race...for the last 3 years! He has to have incriminating photos of the team.

if Kimi divebombed into Verstappen like Ricciardo did he would have had a puncture and lose valuable points

all the blame on the tires

So if I've understood this information correctly then Rosberg made a mistake ahead of the start by being in the wrong strategy setting, thus losing some power through turn 2/3 meaning Lewis got a run on him, he tried correcting the setting mid-corner and went into defensive driving mode. This puts the whole incident into a completely different light and I'm afraid to say makes Rosberg even more responsible.

It's all those buttons and modes and settings. They're distracting.
