If they had doing laps behind SC, they could probably start it now. But now we are for 10 minutes warning...

Something i read elsewhere suggested that the circuit owners were unwilling to move the start time as most fans rely on public transport to get to the track & would have booked tickets to be at the track for the 3pm start.

With the 11am start the fia wanted its apparently possible the grandstands would have been over 95% empty.

They all knew the possibility, they could have warned the fans yesterday for them to come in early.

all this time in the run to the restart is essentially lost time.

Why do they wait 10 minutes actually just to give the same message another 10 minutes later? Just go green

I'm surprised i didn't see any marshals on track sweeping the water away during that red flag.

The teams need at least 10 minutes to prep the cars as all the oils & stuff need to be pre-heated & circulated around the engines.

Fuck all you morons. Glad they stopped this.

We already had this debate on here, and we know your position which always comes more on the conservative side on safety, compared to many other members.

Just giving some people who clearly need a reality check.

Only comparison I can give is Las Vegas 2011. People before the race were saying how awesome the race was going to be. Then 24 hours later, the same people were asking people why on earth the events that happened ended up happening.

I sincerely hope that the majority of people watching motorsport are not reacting that way...dangers and dramas will always be a part of it, drivers know it (or at least, they used to be aware of it) If people don't accept that, they should just watch golf

yeah, but if they hadn't based themselves on Ericcson throwing it away, the SC could have been out longer and the race could have gone underway quicker.
