Will be a bit awkward if they give her a name he's previously given one of his chasis.

Kylie Vettel.

A mix up of two of this forum's favorite drivers: Sebastian Vettel and Kyle Busch.

i will have the nurburgring over hockenheim. although both have been 'downgraded', the nurburgring has provided us with some pretty damn good races.

Does this include the Nordschleife? I can't see how they can be seperated. If seperate, I hope the Nordschleife doesn't get the axe.

Bernie is 83 years old and embroiled in major legal case that could possibly land him in jail. Is CVC going allow Bernie to run FOM until he dies or goes to jail?

just about right. I'd just put Raikkonen in Class 2 and create make a 3rd for Button. 4 Would then be your class 3.

That looks fun.

Here's how I'd rate them:

Class 1
Vettel

Class 2
Alonso
Hamilton
Rosberg (kept up with Hamilton all year, super impressive performances)

Class 3
Hulkenberg (nearly put in class 2, needs better seat to properly judge against others)
Raikkonen (class 2 on a good weekend, not consistent enough)

Class 4
Grosjean (very close to class 3)
Webber
Button (can be very fast, but not at all consistent)

Class 5
Massa

I do struggle putting Rosberg and Alonso in the same class, but Rosberg's performances this year were superb. Maybe both Mercedes should be in a class 2.5 or something, as after 2013 I rate Hamilton and Rosberg equal, Alonso probably a bit higher.

All said and done, 2014 should be very fun to watch.

1
Vettel
Alonso

2
Hamilton
Kimi
Button
Rosberg
Hulk

3
Grosjean
Webber
di Resta
Pérez
Ricciardo

4
Massa
Sutil
Maldonado
Bottas
Bianchi

5
Vergne
vd Garde
Gutierrez
Pic

6
Chilton

It's difficult to divide drivers into "classes" because form fluctuates, it seems obvious Lewis has the talent to be tier 1 for example, as he was a match for Alonso when a rookie, but it's also pretty clear Alonso has been driving better than him since, and Lewis has hardly been any better than 2 of the guys he's with there (Button and Rosberg). Massa has outright beaten Kimi in the past yet I'll put him 2 tiers down because he seems nowhere near consistently that driver anymore. Vergne is obviously more talented than the other drivers I put him with, but he's not extracting that talent isn't he. Etc, etc.

If I do this in a different day or in a few months from now, I'll do it completely different, too.

  1. Vettel
  2. Alonso, Räikkönen
  3. Hamilton, Rosberg

Beyond that it gets difficult to rank them for me, you have some very good established drivers that have had good and not-so-good seasons, and then some younger guns who might turn out as good or better but for whom it's too soon to say.

As expected, Pirelli remains F1's tyre supplier until 2016.

But one day of in-season testing must be devoted to tyre testing. One day of pre-season testing must be devoted to wet weather running.

There is no way Button is on the same level as Raikkonen Scotty, and this is coming from a lifelong Button fan. 2011 was a good season, but that doesn't compare to how Raikkonen has performed throughout his career. And as for having a bad attitude, well Alonso's a perfect match then!

Bernie has stepped down from the F1 board but will continue to run the sport.

my ranking is quite the same

Class 1: Alonso and Vettel
Class 2: Hamilton then Raikkonen
Class 3: Hulkenberg, Button, Rosberg (kubica would be here until 2011)
Class 4: Button, Grosjean, Webber

and so on

It'll take a bit of time and championships to take "best driver" position from Vettel based on results

Not sure anyone deserves to be in the same class as Vettel for the moment...

My ranking:
Class 1: Vettel
Class 2: Alonso, Hamilton, Raikkonen
Class 3: Hulkenberg, Rosberg, Button, Grosjean
Class 4: Webber, Massa, Ricciardo, ...

Hulkenberg might have the talent to move up to class 2.
