Clip The Apex lists 26 overtakes. Not much compared to other races this year, but to earlier Monaco races that's much.

I'm going to write a piece on drivers under pressure this year. So far I've thought of Webber, Massa, Alguersuari & Sutil. Any else?

Quick question, is that site affiliated with that famous ... you know ... illegal ... warez... site? Because the logo is an identical match :D

Actually that's quite impressive.

Just to back up my earlier argument, here's (thanks to someone at Atlas) a frame by frame - Ham/Mal vs Ham/Msc

Pretty similar. Look how much kerb Maldonado takes trying to block Lewis ;)

That wasn't counted. However, Hamilton on Petrov was (just before the Petrov/Alguersuari crash) as well as Maldonado on Sutil in the same situation. Maldonado seemed to be clear when Sutil touched the wall with his right rear tyre.

Nice analysis there Phil.

I was angry at Hamilton at first, not so much after watching the onboard.
Still Hamilton's fault by at least 50%, but Maldonado could have been more clever knowing had a clearly faster and overly aggressive Hamilton behind him that he blocked twice on the S/F straight. He was on his way to a wonderful result, had the room to make it safely, but he chose to close the door and hope Hamilton would have backed up by then.

Perez suffered an 80G impact.

I don't think Webber is on pressure at the moment. I think Red Bull is very happy with him this season. Everyone knows Vettel is the better driver, but Webber still scores points. He got bad luck in China and in Monaco with his pitstop. And in Spain the team decided to bring Vettel first in the pits instead of Webber. Else Webber would have won the race, because he would had the oppurtunity to pass Alonso in the free laps with new tyres.

It's a good situation for Red Bull. Vettel is the better driver and takes victories. Webber is driving good and scores a lot of points for the constructor championship.

Nah he made only one serious overtake. He was just lucky that he hasnt pitted before the SC came out, like Sutil was.

if it were not for the petrov injury and red flag i would give 9 or 10. instead, i give 8 for a great race with a potential classic ending unrealized.

Which is exactly the type of situation that should be considered a racing incident. Stewards on prozac again.

The problem with the camera at Ste Devote is it fore shortens the view. From Hamiltons onboard, he's not even close to being alongside enough to claim a legit pass.

Maldonado isn't blocking, but if Lewis claims he took too much kerb then someone point him to his qualifying lap. ;)

Post subject:  Re: Grand Prix de Monaco 2011

Look further back on the onboard and you can see why he did it - all over Pastor down the 'straight'. Furthermore, Pastor didn't take the racing line through Ste Devote. BUT equally, Lewis should know that he only - just - passed Schumacher and he is a 7 times champion with shot tyres. Pastor's a rookie who was on similarly worn tyres to Lewis.
