micha wrote: Surely Ferrari can do better than Massa. If they don't care about points, put someone in the car the brings media attention.....I vote topless Danica Patrick.... It's not only up to Ferrari. It's up to Alonso too. Actualy, he holds the final world regarding the signing of an eventual new driver. |

Ferrari has been quite pleased with Massa, that's all that's needed to speculate upon. In the next 2 races if he keeps the form, he will likely keep the seat. |

Rumours tell that Coca Cola is interested in sponsoring McLaren, with the possible departure of Vodafone. They also tell that designs for the livery already exist, with the old red-white scheme like with Marlboro. |

Claiming that GSK is currently a sponsor of them and has a product that competes with a Coca Cola product (Lucozade vs. Powerade) Still would welcome Coca Cola. Esspecially if it means McLaren drops the hideous chrome and return to the old red/white scheme. |

Hahaha, I actually would like to see that happen. Couldn't be worse than Massa. |

Monster are certainly pushing motor sport sponsorship as well, rumoured to hit the main game next season in the V8's also. Green and black F1 car....mmm. |

It tastes pretty much OK here, still prefer RedBull though. I would certainly appreciate a Coca-Cola livery for McLaren, and a black/green F1 car would be awesome if they use the same colors as Kawasaki does for their bikes. |

Scotty wrote: I like the colours, but it's such a shame Monster tastes like a fucking shit. I don't know anyone who drinks the regular 'green' flavour. Yellow is good. Green is disgusting. Having a Monster livery would be awesome. Even more awesome if they pull it off to do a Black with Green letters and a black with Yellow letters. But I'm afraid the FIA still thinks it varies too much. Would also love Cocal Cola and a major sponsor in F1. Still don't really understand why big worldwide companies like Coca Cola or McDonalds aren't present in F1 |

Yeah pretty much, they have nothing to gain from sponsoring in these sports, not like it will sell more mcdonalds or coke! |

Also, F1 is aimed at a much richer demographic than the masses who make those companies fortune. The sport started giving quite an elitist, chic, glamour image in the couple last decades, with mainstream sponsors (cigarets, motorists) disappearing in favor of banks and luxury businessmen in search of visibility. Tobias wrote: micha wrote: Still don't really understand why big worldwide companies like Coca Cola or McDonalds aren't present in F1 because they have enough exposure already and can aquire a much larger public by less expensive marketing actions. This argument applies to any company. Take a smaller (or new) company with limited exposure and limited budget, why would they invest in F1 instead of mainstream sports and medias? It's all about the potential fanbase they can target and the sport's popularity and image. F1 has none of that, limited fanbase, high cost, mixed image in today's green society and oil peak concerns. |

Today was the first day of the first young drivers' test this season at Silverstone, and it was remarkable in that it played host to the first ever sighting of a HRT with sponsor logos on it. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/101152 |

They only see the point in visibly sponsoring if their guy is actually in the car, I guess. |
