I don't know, it's not like the Olympics are any more interesting...

I actually think the BBC F1 highlights package is better than their live coverage.

A race like today's could only be improved by seeing less of it.

I've sold out again and become a Sky whore. Not just Sky Go but a dish package. I got a good deal from my local doorstep representative.

£22.50 a month for the first 3 months. This includes Entertainment Extra + the Sky Sports package + plus ESPN.

ESPN's alright, I've noticed they show a lot more motorsport than I ever realised before, providing you don't mind week late highlights of stuff from Motors TV but in HD quality so its worth watching again.

They also show Star Mazda and Drag racing, the first I've been hankering to see for a good long while (great racing at Iowa!) and the other is worth fast forwarding through to see if there's any incidents....Well, at least for me, not a drag fan.
(Though it does look glorious in HD! Once that novelty wears off its all the same though....)

All this stuff is on either very late or very early but with Sky+/Virgin TIVO it doesn't matter when its on any more, it's all still viewable without becoming an insomniac...

There's also DTM, but never live and no-one wants to watch that anyway :p

I think I'll treat myself to a Premier Sports subscription too when everything is set up and running.

I only realised recently that Motors TV is a free channel included in the basic package.

22.50 per month for the first three months, and then probably a 100 per month for 2 years without being able to get out of the contract :P

Not quite. I haven't got it until tomorrow. Just hoping everything goes smoothly. I live in a block with a communal dish you see.

seems like the RTBF has cut down on its Belgian GP coverage significantly. Although there is Free Practice 2 broadcast live tomorrow afternoon, there is no 'terrasse' and also no coverage of the support series. A shame that.

RTL Germany blatantly ripping of BBC's Silverstone GP intro. Same music, 3 presenters flying over the circuit, but in a mini helicopter and not on a plane's wing :yuk:

speaking of intros and stuff, I really, really like sky Deutschland's new F1 promo. Kinda reminds me of some stuff from sky sports F1

Jake is fronting BT's football from August 2013, so I guess he's leaving the BBC.

It doesn't say he'll be leaving the BBC, but logic dictates that he will.

He's an idiot for leaving BBC and BBC are much bigger idiots for letting him leave. They really aren't doing anything right.

With the current BBC bosses hating F1 and cutting budgets massively, Jake was in a bad spot. His current job was potentially gone, and there's no chance of a pay rise.

I read that he was disappointed at the lack of chance he got at Euro 2012. Plus now the Olympics is over, there's not much left. And his wife is expecting their first child.

BBC Formula 1 host Jake Humphrey to switch to BT football coverage from 2013

Jake Humphrey will leave the BBC and quit his role as its Formula 1 anchor at the end of the year.

The 33-year-old will instead front BT Vision's coverage of the Barclays Premier League.

Humphrey, who was out of contract at the end of this season, has been the face of F1 on the BBC ever since the channel won the rights to broadcast races from the 2009 season.

At the end of 2011 the BBC was named broadcaster of the year at the FIA Prize Giving Gala in New Delhi.

This year however his role has been diminished as a result of the BBC's share TV deal with Sky.

Humphrey, who has fronted the London 2012 Olympics, BBC Sports Personality of the Year and European Championships football coverage in his 10-year stint with the channel, said he was thrilled to be joining BT's new venture.

"I am incredibly excited to be joining the team at BT not just because I get to fulfil a lifelong dream of presenting the Barclays Premier League but because of the fresh perspective that BT will bring to both sport and broadcasting in this country," he said.

"To be a part of this young, vibrant team who are as passionate about sport as I am, is a privilege.

"I've grown up at the BBC, and whilst I hope to work with them in the future, I'd also like to place on record my thanks to them.

"I am incredibly grateful to all colleagues, and of course the viewers, for their incredible support from CBBC all the way to Formula 1.

"My focus from the start of 2013 is on making BT's coverage of football the best this country has ever seen."

Marc Watson, chief executive of BT Vision, added: "We are absolutely delighted that Jake has chosen to join our new sports channel to anchor our Premier League programming.

"Jake is a tremendously experienced and popular sports broadcaster and a fresh, young and innovative talent.

"He impressed us with his willingness to get deeply involved in the development of our live football programming and we took into account his track record of excellent presenting across many sports.

"He fits our plans for the new channel perfectly and we are very excited to be working with him."

Jake was a presenter that I came to like gradually. First not a fan at all, now I'm used to his face in presenting F1.

He will be missed.

Good luck to him. People with Sky will be able to watch BT Football but it won't be free.
