March Team in 1982 Swiss GP (at Dijon) last race entered by cars using Avon tires. Curiously the only tire supplier that failed to win a race in F1 |

I think he was in contention for the second seat at one point. |

I've found a eulogy-type article from Motorsport which mentions a Benetton test at the end of '93 which didn't amount to anything: Quote: The team dissolved before the season finished and most predicted this would be the end of Michele's F1 career. Not so. He even tested for Benetton in the off-season as a potential candidate to be Michael Schumacher's number two. But in reality, his time in a top-line seat was gone. On the grid at Brazil in 1994, he was in a Minardi. The article itself is a very good read: http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/archi ... -gentleman |

Also, because I feel bad posting text-only in here The caption said it is a B193B, but it most definitely is not. |

That's a B191 nose cone (and probably the rest of the car, unless it is a bastardised show car) and a 1993 livery. |

the green from Benetton and the yellow from Camel made a good combination, one of my favorite liveries |

1994 is my all time favorite when it comes to Benetton. |

I used to have a toy model of the B189, the colorful livery was part of my childhood but I still like the yellow liveries more than others |

I love the 'what did they paint as this year's car' game. I once argued in public with a complete stranger who couldn't grasp that putting the 1998 West paint job on a 1996 McLaren didn't make it the 1998 car. |

While they look similar the B192 and B193 cars are different. It's just the differences are subtle. On the B193 the nose the slightly higher, the bodywork over the rear end is extended and there's the barge boards. Add to that the active suspension and narrower track, hence the bumps on the front just above where the front suspension connects to the chassis. |

Same with Roberto Moreno. And I'm sure Alboreto wouldn't have done any worse than Patrese did in 1993 and certainly better than Lehto, Verstappen, etc in 1994. |

Oh I get that the bodywork is different; I mean the monocoque itself. The cockpit opening and odd lip running below it could be dismissed as consistent design themes, but the bump for the gearstick is a dead giveaway IMHO. Unless the B193 was originally designed to have a stick, there is no reason for it to be there: (Excuse my lazy destruction of the B192 image ) You can just about see the bump on the side of the cockpit here: |

@ gkmotorsport - I don't think I'd noticed that bump before. And now looking back, it's also on the B189, B190 and B191. Also started looking up other cars of that era, this one also has the bump |
