for that Ferrari must do to Vettel what they did to Alonso

I've been thinking if that swap in Interlagos was just a swap or a message to Vettel. I felt like it was kind of a reminder for him that there is nothing granted with Leclerc in the house.

Pretty sure the swap was due to the fact that Vettel had a sensor problem and made no sense compromising Raikkonen's race at that point.

I believe Ferrari gives the number 1 the status of the "owner of the box" like Schumacher did but the circunstances are too different now

vettel performs best when the car suits him and the ferrari has been built for him. if the hype around leclerc is real he should be more versatile (like riccardo) to any unexpected characteristics of next years cars.

and hopefully better in changing conditions, lol

So you see a Finn without his guard up and it's newsworthy? We call it weekend. But kudos for Kimi for not playing any silly media games for his probably last FIA Gala where he get's a trophy. That's the man who spent 16 days drinking between two podiums. I couldn't go out for two days, let alone to race on that level.

What's the point of collecting wins if you can't enjoy them, right? :flag:

Well like one of my Finnish mates was saying, in his McLaren days it was a big scandel in the media if he got drunk, nowadays it's embraced, it's almost like we've been waiting years to finally see him publically drunk and everyone loves it

Let the debate begin again! It is the off season....

When the sound of a hype car excites you much more than the "pinnacle" of motor racing.

I've said it before, but just imagine how batshit crazy the V10's (or their lesser brothers the v8's) would have been if they had just a fraction of the development that these crappy v6's have had. Imagine the current hybrid systems on one those V10's...damn 8O

Also, I would have loved to have seen what Cosworth's v6 engine would have been like. They did after all build one.

too bad that one will be one of the last V12s available for sale as small sizing and hybrids are the choice of hypercar manufacturers

sounds great though

An interesting series of articles on Alonso and why things worked out for him the way they did. A lot of you probably know most of it already, but I didn't, particularly the details of Ron Dennis's inept handling of the situation throughout 2007, and how Ferrari feels about Alonso (and what his current prospects vs Vettel's might have been). Very interesting reading.

Cosworth would be a really cool company to work for. Great stuff!

I'm not sure what's funnier, Kimi drunk or Seb glueing the local wildlife to his face to emulate @Scotty avatar.

I thought there was plans to bypass Curva Grande and utilise part of the old Pirelli Test Track?

I am really not against an old-school "superspeedway" turn. With a long enough straightaway before, and a carefully planned radius so that you arrive at 370kph and have to brake down to 300kph, downshift, and throw the car into it under maximum lateral loading for it to stick. There's no European track that currently offers that challenge, and if one has to, what place better than the so-called temple of speed?

Or maybe these turns are easy nowadays with the levels of downforce available on cars? In which case, fudge it: make it bumpy, off-camber and unpredictable.

those plans were with MotoGP in mind, but they rather stayed in Mugello
