It probably would be Grosjean in the car, yes.

But I personally wouldn't kick out Piquet for Grosjean yet.

If Alonso does head to Beemer then Renault could do a lot worse than putting Heidfeld alongside Piquet next year. Don't think Nelson's anywhere near ready to lead the team yet, and Heidfeld would bring useful information and experience, as well as a fair turn of speed.

This would be more of an advantage for Renault than for Heidfeld. It would mean the beginning of Nicks end...

RB is testing here again today, seems they do that quite often lately when there's a GP weekend.

it's somewhere in Limburg (Geel if I'm right?). There's a huge testcourse overthere, mainly used to experiment with engine power

Can anyone list the current test ban agreements? Will there be a month of delay between Brazil and the first winter test as last year?

I dont think so. AFAIK there's a test session at Barcelona on November 17-18-19.

I don't think there's separate testing ban but with sole tyre supplier now, Bridgestone gives all teams equal opportunity to test. I think there's two test sessions before the end of the year. Barcelona and IIRC new Portuguese track holds one too.

That would suck, because if they start testing there often, that would guarantee a boring race if we ever get a Grand Prix in that circuit.

Quote:
Badoer tested at Fiorano yesterday. The barge boards were taken off, so were the wheel covers and winglets. The aerodynamic downforce levels of next year have been simulated. Parts of KERS were tested, only next week at Barcelona it will fully be in use. The unit that charges and releases the energy (for which also spacial technology has been used) weighs in between 5 and 7 kg but is to weigh below 5 kg. The electronic unit that controls the system (made by Magneti Marelli) weighs 3,8 kg. The electro engine weighs 5,3 kg but is to become below 5 kg. Overall the system should weigh around 30 kg.

The system is placed at the lowest point possible in the middle of the body. This allowes for a good point of gravity and the rigidity of the F2008 is retained. The lithium batteries (the capacity of a 10 L jerry can) are placed behind the driver. This required sophisticated cooling. The entire system is water cooled. Many things will still change.

well, from the picture it doesn't look much different to this year's car and I imagine in the tests of next week we will not have much clues as to how the 2009 cars will look exactly either.

I'm looking forward to the launches of the cars, that's for sure

They don't say anything specially cause they are not even experimenting the new wings. I'll get satisfied when I see the new wings. :D
