Wet races tho

Even those suck in F1 compared to other series.

If Vettel can get close during races, I might tune in.

Otherwise just like last season: maybe record it and watch Melbourne, Monaco, Montreal and Spa.

the maximum wet condition allowed in F1 is damp track, more than that they call the day because it can cause randomness

V8 supercars did a good job of it but you mainly just get shit like WEC where they throw the pace car due to what they're seeing on the radar and then Hindy prasies them to high heaven for being anticipatory not reactionary :whistling:

They were playing Spa 1998 on TV earlier. I'd forgotten how wet it was, yet Murray was saying he saw no reason to stop the race, unless it became absolutely impossible to drive. How times change. :(

Martin Brundle used to say F1 cars are safe to drive in the wet until the water gets so bad that they start aquaplaning in a straight line.

If only...

Suzuka 2014 was quite wet in the end and even Sutil's crash didn't bring the SC out. At the time I was surprised by this as Whiting has a habit to even red flag the race for the precaution when full wets are needed.
On that day, I wonder if Charlie was thinking "each time I get bashed for disrupting wet racing, so, fine, let them race." Unfortunately, this was the worst moment for him to be lenient. Though, without Bianchi's crash we could have seen proper racing in wet conditions till the end...

the biggest problem in Suzuka it was the weather getting darker

perhaps they should make the cars suitable to race in the wet aswell. I am also talking to you Pirelli

Well what can Pirelli do to make better wet tyres if they don't run in conditions wet enough for wet tyres?

we can bend the rules to turn sprinklers in the track on random moments on the race (aka when it's boring)

The biggest problem in Suzuka was the crazy marshaling guidelines.

I'll throw my hat into the ring here and say the issue with wet weather is not actually the tyres but the drivers who try to race as if it is a dry track, and come across as surprised when they don't have optimal conditions.

F1 drivers are a bunch of pansies, one drop of rain and they want the red flag. Just get out there and drive the damn things.

Wasn't because the ride height isn't what it used to be?

I'm sure wet tarmac run off doesn't help safety in wet conditions. It's called 'run off', not 'slowing down off'.

Friday is forecast to be wet at the moment, but it might end up changing in the coming days

This race is most likely going to suck, but I'm still kind of hyped for it tbh

the cars are quite high on the back, that should help in wet conditions
