Oh, and there's another issue, the sunset in Suzuka, at that time of the year, is before 18:00, which means the natural lights don't last too much, last year we saw that, the end of the race was under very low light, they have moved the race start time back to 14:00, but I still think it's too late, it should start at 13:00, to avoid any kind of problems with natural light

Always loved Suzuka, no other track is as rewarding to get right and a total bitch when it goes wrong.

Also, GRAVEL :)

Lotus started the weekend with no freight and no hospitality.

They are back before the judge in 24 hours and if the deal with Renault is not underway they will be wound up.

Good news, everyone. FP1 & FP2 saved. The recent forecast shows that the rain should stop by Friday morning so there's a chance there will be action on track (unless the teams want absolutely no moisture on the track).

Japanese Grands Prix never get the right amount of rain. It's always too much when the clouds roll in.

They should move the race to the end of october/begin of november, like it was from 1987 to 1995, the chance of a typhoon would be much lower... the end of september/begin of october is still in the peak of the typhoon season... I remember a few weeks ago, there were 3 typhoons forming at the same time in the Pacific Ocean. The rain at late october, early november is usually lighter when it happens, it would be a relief for the typhoon problems. In the past 10 years, we had lots of problems regarding the rain! An entire day cancelled in 2004, due to a typhoon, a Qualifying session cancelled in 2010, due to the heavy rain and last year, a typhoon again.

Next year it will be pushed to Oct. 9th so we're gonna see about that again. But it will be equally curious to see what happens with Sepang weather going back to the fall.

Renault waits for the team to go bust and buy cheap just to get screwed over by Bernie saying they won't get historic money because that deal was for when they saved th team and not bought the remnants.

Seems like the ultimate game of bluffing. Potentially three teams less next year. As always, politically very intruiging and crappy racing.

Bernie just being Dagobert Duck. Wait....i meant Bernie...

Cvc will still be the owner, so unless that changes or the teams grow some balls and all boycot a race or whole season together, nothing will change.

A lot of work has been done since last year to improve drainage around the circuit.
http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2015/09/23/d ... i-crashed/

Quote:
For this year’s race drainage at the corner has been modified “by the use of porous asphalt strips and ‘U’ drains on the edges of the track”, according to the FIA. The same work has also been carried out at turns one, three, six, 13 (Spoon) and 18.

They should move the Japanese GP even forward, but it won't happen, due to all the contracts with other circuits and the logistics regarding the travels to Asia, and yeah, I also have the same curious feeling about Sepang, it will be interesting to see the change to the dates.

They also have installed a larger crane, at Dunlop corner, so a crashed car can be remover, without the need of a tractor entering the track! Same kind of cranes used at places like Monte Carlo!

Indeed. It says a lot that nowadays drivers rate the Hungaroring very highly.
