Just terrible. What an awful start of the season. No action at all, highlight of the race was Maldonado crashing. FFS this was shit! Why am I waking up early for this kind of shit?

3, for the laughs, for a bit of entertainment at the start and for the fact they didn't just follow the Mercs. There have been many worse races.

Expected this, 1. It was amateur hour all over the place. Nobody apart from Mercedes and (maybe) Ferrari seems actually ready for this season.

Topped off by an interviewer who had absolutely no clue who he was talking to.

3/10. New season = reason to feel positive, but I enjoyed last night's Formula Rejects race of Miami way more, and they had a full grid of 20 cars

You mean the series Formula one is a feeder series to?

For me, this race was 2/10

Start crash, brief Kimi overtaking, Nasr and Erricson showing well, but my favourite part was Button standing up to an amateurish Perez through the 12/13 chicane and again at turn 3.
Shit car, but he's still a racer.

But yeah not worth waking up for sadly. In the off season I usually say I don't mind boring races, as long as there's cars on a racetrack I'll watch and be interested. Hell, I still put on NASCAR races even though I know nothing will happen for the "just in case its awesome" factor.

Today was the first time I questioned that theory, really.... :slaphead:

So even though Button turned in on Perez at T3, it was the Mexican's fault? Yeah, sounds about right...

It's more if Perez can't pass someone who is 1/2 seconds a lap slower than him, more fool him

Button had to turn into the corner at some point, and also wasn't likely to give a shit about crashing early on and getting to go home early, he demonstrated that at the fast chicane a lap or two before. Perez should've known this and been more decisive.

So even though Perez was almost fully alongside and even though the team told Button on the radio (after the incident) to avoid incidents and try to get to the finishing, you are still maintaining that Perez was the guilty party? Yeah, you really are clutching at straws.

And your comment about someone being 1/2 second slower is funny.

For someone of Button's experience he behaved like the amateur. Remember that Honda and McLaren desperately need mileage in order to make up lost ground and build data.

Like I said, you're clutching at straws but I'm glad you find me schooling you amusing. In our next lesson I'll teach you the basics of speed differential and closing speeds.

Perez bounced off the kerb straight into Button's sidepod. 100% his fault imo. Button left over a car's width.

It wasn't actually that bad, considering the circumstances. 5.

The part highlighted in bold has no relevance to who is guilty, really.

It was used to point out that the team told Button to be careful, there was no need to take unnecessary risks. So yes, has relevance.

, thanks for the point about the curb. Don't agree it was 100% Perez as Jenson still turned in.

Possibly, but I still think he left enough space (even if he could have left more). If Perez was someone... more talented, I don't think they'd have hit

But he did leave the room, it was the kerb hit that sent Perez wide.

Try telling a racer not to race.

Fast forwarded through this race in about 10 minutes, felt like I didn't miss much.
