Surprised to see everyone pick da Costa for the STR seat. I haven't been following WSBR, but he hasn't been very good this season, judging by the results.

Da Costa and Vandoorne are the stand-outs of the series.

Frijns > Rest.

But he is Dutch, so he won't land in F1 based on talent.

I think Vettel is going to drive a Red Bull next year. The rest I'm not so sure of.

OT but I'm curious to why is Kubica rumoured to be hard to work with, as you heard it?

I never read or heard anything on that line, just the opposite. :o

Giancarlo Minardi (not sure how authoritative he is) suggests Button will take a sabbatical from F1 next year, or might walk away from the sport completely. McLaren is trying to get Raikkonen back to fill the gap (me being Belgian, I'd like to see Stoffel Vandoorne there 8) ).

Now you are misquoting the article there. It merely says Raikkonen could be a candidate for McLaren if Jenson moves on, which is very different to what you're saying.

It was reported that the main reason why Renault kept up in the development race in 2010 was because Robert was harassing them at every possible occasion to improve the car, above and beyond what a driver usually does. Perhaps it isn't being difficult to work with in the traditional sense, more a case of being very demanding. This was also a root cause in the disintegration of Robert's relationship with BMW.

This Minardi stuff is interesting, although I do wonder where it has come from.

And just for the sake of it, my predicted calendar changes:

Spanish GP will stay at Barcelona.
The Russian GP will be the only new GP on the calendar, while New Jersey and Thai will not happen.

Sutil at Lotus? Any rumours or just a random guess? I can't really see him joining the team of Eric Lux

Sutil's going sportscar racing?

Arden Caterham aren't very good. He flattered that team last year.

Not the same Eric Lux :p Had to look up the American one because this Lux has racing experience as well, running Gravity Racing Moslers in the Belgian GT back in 07

Autosport has a fairly convincing piece this week saying Raikkonen is Red Bull's #1 target for 2014. It makes a lot of sense for reasons they outline (Webber pissed everyone else off in Brazil 2012, Raikkonen-Red Bull fit is good, Lotus's future uncertainty, Allison leaving). That would leave STR facing a quandry with da Costa, unless one of Ricciardo/Vergne has the balls to tell Red Bull to do one and sign for a rival.

Either way, it seems Red Bull wants rid of Webber. Ferrari will surely stick with the current line up, and you'd think Bianchi's link will leave him at Marussia. Unless Ferrari wants to move him up to Sauber, although that would mean booting Hulkenberg (quick) or Gutierrez ($$$)

If I were a midfield runner, with Kimi's hesitancy and Romain continuing to hit things, I'd try and build some Lotus contacts...

And Kals, harsh. But true. :p

Are Red Bull poor or merely spending what was required to win? Something tells me that if Mateschitz wanted Raikkonen, he'd have no problem funding an extra £5m a year.
