I hope Alonso, but it'll probably be Vettel.

Obviously it's more likely that Vettel will be champion, but then again anything can happen. I hope Alonso will take the title though.

If the weather forecast is accurate, the race could well get cut short under the 4 hour rule.

Vettel wins by default.

Unless Vettel crashes out, there is no way Alonso is going to finish ahead of him.

When things gets really messy, the race direction doesn't have time to give a second thought about who's leading or not IMO. They'll be busy enough taking a decision on whatever conditions they have on their hands, then they'll count points later, like in 2003 during the Fisichella/Kimi battle.

Your scenario would be just full of win. But I predict some twisted scenario we haven't even thought about will pop up. Source? Almost every goddamn race this year.

With rain and everything, I predict a Brazil 2008 kinda race with Vettel winning the World Championship. Alonso will win the race however.

Normally Vettel. But we had crazy last races in 2007, 2008 and 2010.
Schumacher is one of the best drivers ever, but he had always had troubles in the last race of the year. He only scored 1 point in 4 championship decider races.

Think of 2007. Much more happened for Raikkonen.

It is hard to see past Vettel, but I have been backing Alonso all season and I have the pre season bet to prove it. So for financial reasons I want an Alonso win and for his consistently impressive driving I want Alonso to win. It's not going to be easy but it remains possible with changeable weather and Maldonado on the circuit :P.

I only realised this a little earlier, but recent history doesn't stack up well for either Ferrari or Alonso in championship deciders:

2006 - Ferrari versus Renault, Schumi and Alonso - Alonso wins
2007 - Ferrari versus McLaren, Raikkonen and Alonso and Hamilton - Raikkonen wins
2008 - Ferrari versus McLaren, Massa and Hamilton - Hamilton wins
2010 - Ferrari versus McLaren versus Red Bull, Alonso and Hamilton and Vettel and Webber - Vettel wins
2012 - Ferrari versus Red Bull, Alonso versus Vettel - who wins?

Heart says Alonso head Vettel, but all it takes is a simple retirement for Vettel and who knows. those alternators have been iffy...
