Maybe we'll see some of these guys again, like we did in 2010.

Just to keep track on how the championship would look like if the old 10-6-4-3-2-1 system were used, here's the Standings after Canadian GP...

Drivers Standings

01 - Sebastian VETTEL - 25 Pts
02 - Fernando ALONSO - 24 Pts
03 - Lewis HAMILTON - 24 Pts
04 - Mark WEBBER - 22 Pts
05 - Nico ROSBERG - 19 Pts
06 - Jenson BUTTON - 16 Pts
07 - Romain GROSJEAN - 14 Pts
08 - Kimi RAIKKONEN - 12 Pts
09 - Pastor MALDONADO - 10 Pts
10 - Sergio PEREZ - 10 Pts
11 - Kamui KOBAYASHI - 03 Pts
12 - Bruno SENNA - 01 Pt
13 - Paul DI RESTA - 01 Pt
14 - Felipe MASSA - 01 Pt

Constructors Championship

01 - Red Bull - 47 Pts
02 - McLaren - 40 Pts
03 - Lotus - 26 Pts
04 - Ferrari - 25 Pts
05 - Mercedes - 19 Pts
06 - Sauber - 13 Pts
07 - Williams - 11 Pts
08 - Force India - 01 Pt

It's amazing that after 7 races, the championship leader would only have 25 pts (which in the current system is the points you get for a single victory), and the gap from the 1st to the 7th is 10 pts. The championship would be even more exciting as it's right now with our current points system. How I would like to =have the old 10-6-4-3-2-1 back! It was the best!

Back in the day you could do your own calculations how the championship points would go when someone is on 1st position instead of being 4th. Now you have to wait until the end of the race how it came out.

i see no reason to calculate the championship using the old points system.

it's like the people that discuss who would win if there was no Chase in NASCAR.

we've got what we've got, just deal with it.

Exactly! I really miss that. By the way, for what I remember from TBK you were one of the most knowledgeable members when it came to F1, you follow the series since what year?

I hope this topic doesn't start again with a "HAIL DRS and you suck if you don't like it" discussion before the race, and a DRS SUCKS discussion afterwards. It made me feel sick about this forum for 10 days.

There is no hope for this track to get "action", even with DRS. F1 will be here for the 4th time in Valencia and all we got was :tumble: and we will get :tumble: again.

I would kick it for good, not even switching races

2008 - Procession, Kimi's engine goes kablammo, Alonso taken out on Lap 1 so everyone goes home
2009 - Barrichello vs Hamilton; Rubens wins and everyone blames a slow McLaren stop (sounds familiar) but he had a gap anyway
2010 - Webber goes flying. Hamilton penalised for overtaking the Safety Car. Ferrari go on the bitching offensive because of that
2011 - Webber vs Alonso for second.

Valencia in a nutshell.

There was about 2 or 3 laps after the pit stops last year when there was a huge barnfight in the mid-pack, 3 or 4 cars suddenly started scrapping because someone went "off the cliff"

That was it though.

At least we have GP2 and GP3 this week....

I hate that this is called street track.

Almost no road markings, massive run-offs almost everywhere. Turns 2/3 and 5 only real corners where barriers are close.

The first three laps will be okay and then the race will be over.
