Maybe self-isolation until gets the results, instead of actual quarantine followed by positive test.

A photographer who was at the track today is now being tested as well.

The mood music seems to be that one positive test will draw the curtain on the weekend.

The blessed one is questioning why we are racing this weekend.

Expect cancellation any moment now.

Then again I can see them reply with "We never asked them to withdraw and it was their personal choice so race is still on".

They'll still race.

The Haas situation was all negative

Come to think of it, didn't Ross Brawn say the other day, that it will only be a non championship race if one of the teams was "denied" entry to a country? So by what he said the other day the race will go on and tough titties McLaren, 1 less round for you. But me thinks the other teams will have something to say about this.

Just watch, we will get halfway through tomorrow, McLaren will be told tough luck you opted to pull out.....then one Ferrari mechanic will be confirmed to have it and by tomorrow night the event will be called off.

They should never have been allowed to travel to Australia.

But it is F1, they're above everything right?

I'm certain it'll be called off. It would be a total PR disaster if they continued with the weekend. They have already been hammered in the press in general just for being here.

The source is SpeedCafe's live blog. The bold is mine.

Quote:
VICTORIA’S CHIEF HEALTH OFFICER SPEAKING ON RADIO:

This morning Victoria’s Chief Health Officer, Brett Sutton, revealed that he had the power to effectively call off the race by placing people under enforced quarantine.

“I’m aware that there are crew who are unwell and in isolation who have tests pending. It’ll depend on those tests,” Sutton said when asked on Melbourne’s SEN whether the Grand Prix could go ahead.

“If they’re all negative, if everyone else who’s got symptoms is negative and they haven’t exposed other crew, then I can say that they can carry on.

“But, if they’re a positive crew and they’ve exposed a number of others, then all of those contacts need to be in quarantine.

“It’ll be a question of whether they’ve got the operational staff to continue.”

Everyone who was on the flight will have to be quarantined. If it was just McLaren staff, then they might be OK. If not...

If Bernie was still running it, they'd race 100%.

I still think they will go ahead with this one. Australia usually loses money over hosting F1 GP anyway? Cancelling the GP at the 11th hour would hit them even more IMO.

If more races follow I'm starting to fear for the likes of Williams. Some of the sponsors will likely pay out less (as less exposure) but the staff still needs to be payed.

Doesn't look good even for a non-championship race

question is how much of a clusterfuck the FIA will turn this into before the race wont happen.

I put my money on 8 out of the remaining 9 times wanting to cancel the race but get forced to race and they do a start and park like Indy 2005.
