The glorious ground shaking rip your face off V10s on the other hand. I remember when I used to go to the Australian GP, the thing that I loved the most was how insane those engines sounded, even when they were bellowing down the straight on the other side of the circuit. The BMW in the Williams was the best. What a beast that sounded like. |

Tasty, so much that I missed and forgot about it. Specially racing cars actually going fast. Can you believe it, F1 going fast? And overtaking being somewhat of a challenge for someone with more driving skills than a sunday morning grandmother going to the church. 2014 cars looked like hell, but with the reduction of aero combined with the more tourqey hybrid engines, we got some great races out of that season, particularly early on before some aero was clawed back There's a reason the 2014 bahrain GP was one of the best races in F1 history. And it wasn't just because the 2 Mercs went side by side for lap after lap (Or the FLIPPERZ either ) |

It was great when you were walking towards the circuit, and you could hear the cars from a mile away. It just added to the excitement of turning up to the race track. But once at the track, I often found them too high pitched and harsh on the ears. I preferred the deeper roar of the old turbo cars, or the Ferrari V12. Or even better... Not sure how the current engines sound at the circuit, as I've not been to a race or a test session for several years. |

I also prefer the current engine noise and faint turbo whistle. The V8s grated my nerves. |

I have to say out of all the cars released that season the Sauber actually got an audible gasp from me. Well the front of the car anyway, the rest wasn't too bad. The Renault was ALL OVER a fugly car, but didn't have the shock that the front of that Sauber gave me. |

And it wasn't just because the 2 Mercs went side by side for lap after lap (Or the FLIPPERZ either ) Yeah, the main reason were all the teams that decided to save fuel on Malasia, go all in, with 3 stops, while the other half of the midfield was doing 2 stops. Several overtakes due to it. 2014 was great, as I always like changes and new things, despite the sound and ugly painting and only 1 team on top. But having a total repeat the following years was very painfull to watch. Having sometimes Vettel and Ricciardo winning just made things worse, showing what I was desperately missing. Also the previous race was the lowest low that I've ever seen the F1 TBK forum. That must have helped for sure. |

Marchionne literally said both of these things when announcing the launch on monday Also that this is basically Kimi's last chance to find some speed. |

FIA has changed their rule to allow drivers to participate in Free Practice sessions. Now, drivers must have at least 6 F2 races under their belts, or 25 licence points gained in the last 3 years. That's included in the previous rule of 300km F1 experience and some sporting regulations knowledge. This means that, this kind of drivers cannot take part in a F1 practice session (considering 1 year achievements): - WEC LMP1 runner-up - WEC LMP2 champion - Formula V8 3.5 champion - Super Formula champion - 3rd place in IndyCar - 3rd place in EuroF3 |
