Really looking forward to this year, was thinking the cars would be a bit slower but hitting 336kmh on the straight in Bahrain is INSANE! Faster than 2005 (top in qual was 330kmh). A 1:33 lap is great as well. I know it's just testing and I know those numbers aren't too accurate, but it's looking good. Just hoping the Renault powered teams can get everything working...

3 weeks till Oz!!!!!!!

When they run under the lights here later on, they're gonna be a bit faster than this.

I see it's unclear if he will race in GP2, I really hope he does. There is a chance to show something in F1 FP1, sure. But you can show a lot by winning a championship. He has had the good 1st year, the not quite 2nd year. The 3rd year he should be showing his growth by winning GP2. I like him, but based on his lack of wins in GP2, he needs to keep racing and start winning again.

It just occurs to me, we have the driver combo we have all been waiting for! Nasr and Massa are at the same team, WOO! :lol:

Rosberg drove a 1.33.283, which would have placed him seventh on last year's grid.

In relation to the proposed qualifying changes:

After Q2, the top 10 drivers will be handed an extra set of tyres for the final qualifying segment.
These drivers will have to start the race on the tyres which were fitted during their best Q2 lap.

Thus the drivers will be encouraged to go as fast as they can and not just sit out the final session in order to save a set of tyres.

Apparently there are no real objections to this idea. The teams should adopt this rule change at the conclusion of next week's Bahrain tests.
