So Alonso starts 6th, Vettel 24th. I can see Alonso ending up 4th... 1 point gap? :D

The Ferrari is dog turd this weekend, so if there is a SC I would expect Vettel to pass Alonso at some point, especially now that his car can be set up for the race.

Apparently there was a force majeure explaining why there was so little fuel, but they need that 1L for the sample. Without it, they can't ascertain whether the car was legal during qualifying.

If that's the case, it's bullshit really.

if its force majeure its force majeure.

It just means that the rule that was broken is different to the one that McLaren broke in Barcelona.

Ted Kravitz just said on Sky that the stewards accepted that there was a mechanical problem with something in the fuel system, However there was less than 1ltr of fuel left in the tank so wasn't enough for the FIA sample anyway.

I missed the start of what he said but on BBC Gary Anderson said something about the FIA not liking something on Red Bull's fuel tank?

I'd also expect Red Bull to take a 9th engine as well...

Great for the championship.
I hope somehow karma will pay back, for 2010,where Vettel profited so much from this racetrack where u can't pass, and Alonso's problems with Petrov.

Red Bull with a short 7th gear means the 'OMG HE CANT PASS!!!!111' people will be out in force.

Oh, and to everyone who thinks Vettel is lucky. Yeah, okay...

Pretty sure Vettel will still finish high up in the points.

So I guess Ascari's record will stay in the books then...

I'd be surprised if he did. He came from 24th to finish 7th at Silverstone in 2010 but the RB6 that day was mega. Any points would be good, he really needs a Lap 1 safety car...

If he did he probably 8th or 9th.

this F1 is every year getting closer to Wrestling mentality. If you watch back in the 92 or in 2001, championship were closed at half the season. Now it's two or three years that whenever a driver is building a considerable gap than all kind of strange odds happens to him and the gap is gone. I would not be surprised if at some point in the Following years someone would be able to prove that these events were all staged just to make F1 more exciting and always decide the championship in the last couple of races so spectators wont loose interest in it. Something similar to what is happening to Armstrong in Cycling just to make it clear.

The more pertinent question is; when is he off it?
