So shit races are your fault? :p

Any way, F1 is supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsports. The best of the best remember, it's not a spec series.

I'm not normally one for hyperbole but this is the best first lap in F1 history

not just mine but for some members here

there's always one that shows up after a classic race posting "gaaaa I had to attend my grandma's birthday and missed all that"

the thing is that I don't miss any race, so when it happens it'll be a clusterfuck like Latifi winning

There were a number of times he could have lost a wing or a wheel or just end up facing the wrong way. That was intense.

For the 7th time the same podium again. Yawn.

Good circuit. Pity if they won't return here or Mugello. Looking forward to Imola though.

I would be excited for Imola, with cold temperatures, uncertain weather and limited runtime on an unknown track for all drivers but one.

Then, we just saw that even in these conditions, Mercedes comes in and absolutely rapes the field.

I don't blame Mercedes either, I blame the other 9 teams for not improving the slightest bit for the last 7 years. Ferrari and RedBull in particular: fuck you. Renault, for collapsing at some point and barely delivering the stated goal of bridging the gap to top teams in those 6 years: fuck you. McLaren, for being shit for half the hybrid era: fuck you. The others for running on a budget: fuck you. They all deserve every bit of sore ass they got handed to them today. You're in F1. It's competitive. It needs the best of the best. Improve and at least pretend that you can beat Mercedes on a normal day.

I blame FIA for not changing the rules enough not just to fuck Mercedes, but to scramble the whole field

So much hope after those first couple laps which were mega but slept through most of that snoozefest. And here we go with Sky F1 kissing Hamilton's backside once again.
Verstappen P3 and Albon P12...yikes. I had such high hopes for Albon after his 2019 performances but seeing how Red Bull operates I can't see him making it past 2020. Gasly was my driver of the day and it's hard to fathom that he isn't being considered for that seat.

But don't you feel the rules should be updated more frequently? I mean, after the 2014 regulations, the next major change will be in 2021. And during that time, technical freedom is so limiting that whoever came out of the gates with the best solution in 2014 is going to close out 2021 with the same advantage. I feel that needs to change. These teams blow through wads of cash regardless of whether you change the regs every two years or eight.

But anyway, one team dominating outright for seven fucking years...there's something very wrong with that picture.

When you team mate laps you in the same car, then its really time to say goodbye for Albon. One day RBR will find a excellent 2nd driver wich is right there behind Max or when he fucks up. I would give the chance to Perez or Hulk, i mean what can you loose?
Youve already tried all from the RBR drivers academy. There are really good drivers but its only 20 seats available.
I would try the spicy Mexican next year, what can go wrong, he even brings sponsors and cash

just watched the highlights (missed the start), that was a enjoyable race

they need to keep Algarve on the schedule IMO (way better than CoTA and Paul Ricard)

Update: it is now raining hard enough to make a difference in F1.

A DRS borefest. No skill required for most of the overtakes in that race.

Started watching the highlights, saw up until Sainz going for the lead and thought "ooooh I might actually watch this one". Watched until about lap 6 then skipped to the end.... glad I didn't waste anymore time than I did

Nerdy stat - we've now had the same number of HAM/BOT/VER podiums as MSC/HAK/COU - it's 2 behind the record combination (HAM/ROS/VET), so that's another record that will be broken this year: https://www.statsf1.com/en/statistiques ... /trio.aspx

That wasn't a great race, but cmon, that's what we usually have. This wasn't a classic but wasn't like any race in Paul Ricard or Sochi. We had action in the middle pack for most of the race plus the unusual climbs of Sainz and Kimi in the first laps.

But I must say, this race could be much more fun if there was no DRS. Not only because of the easy passes in general but because then we could have some more laps of Sainz leading. DRS might make overtakes easier, but it also helps the faster cars to be in front neutralizing the bad effects of the bad things that might happen to them.

We won't have that. It will be the regular weather we used to get when it was at the beginning of the season.

That record would have already been equaled this year if Bottas hadn't retired from podium in Silverstone and Nürburgring. But yeah, I can see HAM/BOT/VER still happen a couple of times this year.

even though the racing there wasn't that good, I'd take one race at Portimão over 10 at Abu Dhabi and Sochi
