We were stuck for one hour on the same spot in the parking lot in 2005

Yet, fans still go every damn year to the race. It's not traffic the issue. It's going to stupid countries where people don't give much of a fuck about F1.

I used to enjoy the jams getting out of Silverstone all those years back, everyone would be in high spirits and it was part of the race day experience. Plus we'd normally stop back and have a BBQ before setting off.

Worst traffic experience I've had was the first A1GP race at Brands Hatch. Took 2 hours just to get out of the car park...

well, I never went to F1 again after 2005, seriously wasn't worth it :p

then again, THANK GOD they don't go to Zandvoort, I can't believe the traffic jams you get there

You would've hated MotoGP at Donington Park and World Superbikes at Brands Hatch then. Both over 3 hours just to move from inside the circuit to the front gates. It amazes me to think that Foulston was trying to get F1 to Brands Hatch in the 2000's. How on earth would that have been physically possible?

Thats why Melbourne works so well, there are no traffic jams at all because it's all public transport to and from the track and it's well organised. The beauty of tracks in the city I suppose.

Zandvoort is the worst with a car. No highway leading directly to the circuit, you have to go trough some little villages.

With the train it is pretty doable, or you have to sleep near the circuit (for big events)

EDIT: oh IC it is already mentioned, lol.

Fingers crossed Weehawken will have the same success when F1 comes to town next year. NJTransit are pretty good but seem to struggle / have a total meltdown a little too often.

Lotus is £200 million in debt. Likely to be put into administration. Dany Bahar has been placed on leave.

You're not from Melbourne, you don't see the congestion the South Melbourne/St. Kilda area it brings the 3 weeks before the race and the week and a half afterwards. It's not just all about getting to and from the race. It's one of the reasons they want to get rid of the race.
I was speaking purely as a spectator.

Didn't like..EVERYONE say it was dumbfounding when Lotus announced all their motor racing antics knowing it would lead to this? It really is strange what they have gotten themselves into.

Well also the fact that have not even started the development (I think) of their large road car range which would cost them a bucket in tooling and machinery at their factory. *throws arms in air*

Danny Bahar going down in History as the man that singlehandedly killed off Lotus.

What an idiot. They went from getting payed to use the Lotus name in F1 to paying to use the Lotus name and end up getting jack shit for the use of it and being way over their heads in racing.
