So Long Beach looking for new sponsors......

I wonder if a freedom loving media organisation might be tempted.

Sure, they might insist on a switch of formula for the marquee race, but hey, at least it'll keep long beach going.... :whistling:

It does sound like those small headlines and random TV news you see in the background at the start of every disaster movie.

Chandhok unaware that he's being broadcast with interesting results.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Indeed. It would be a crying shame to lose one or even both.

What if Alonso called it a day? I'm sure he prefers WEC, he wants to go testing Indycar but can't find the time, and he is nothing but positive about Vandoorne so maybe he'll quit early so Vandoorne doesn't lose his seat.

If it's a new entry, why keep the Force India part of the name? Racing Point F1 Mercedes is good enough, there's no allegiances to FI now.

Constructor is force India. That didn’t change. They didn’t build a complete new car. I expect that the name will be dropped completely.

Yep, they confirmed today it is because FI built the car. They say it won't be carried forward next year, but also that they may not even keep this Racing Point name either.

I guess calling it 'Stroll F1' gives off the wrong message

If I read this correctly, this means that Pirelli wants to call the compunds hard, medium and soft, regardless of what they're actually meant to be called.

So if the compounds for a race are softs, supersofts and hypersofts, they'd be called hard, medium and soft respectively.

Makes total fucking sense.

According to several rumours, Stroll will have a seat fitting at Force India on Tuesday. There's nothing that stops Ocon from joining McLaren either and the big loser will be Vandoorne who is on his way out after this weekend. The paperwork needs to be filled as well.

He doesn't fit in the car. Alonso and Vandoorne are both midgets and Ocon isn't.

I'll see if I get a response from the guy on this (the journalist, not Ocon) ;)

De Ferran was also on Buxton's Youtube thingummy for Liberty and was asked directly if Vandoorne was getting chucked this year. The answer was no.

2019 is obviously another matter...

Polish jounalist said that Vandoorne was told he won't be at McLaren next season back in Hungary already.
