What a fucking shit show if all that is true. Congrats Liberty, you bought a real beauty here. The vast majority of users here would have gladly told you to avoid F1 with a ten foot pole, but good luck I suppose.

Concorde agreement, such a great contract. :slaphead:

And congratulations to Lawrence Stroll and his lawyers for making a deal where they get the stuff but NOT the permission to use them! Welcome to the real F1 world! But don't worry! You can be a total dick back to McLaren and Williams in no time at this rate! That is Red Bull doesn't pull the plug before those two private teams going down before that. With some luck you can improve your position on the constructors standing by four spots if RBR, STR, MCL and Williams all go down at the same time, somewhere on the next decade.

If McLaren does indeed throw out Vandoorne by Monza they can go rightly fuck themselves.

And it would likely cause a driver rotation at Monza: Stroll -> Force India, Kubica -> Williams, Ocon -> McLaren

Stroll won't perform because he is Stroll
Kubica won't perform because he is still not 100% and Williams is crap
Ocon won't perform because McLaren is crap

How much circuit racing has Kubica actually done since he was last in F1 any way?

And as Tobi Grüner was reporting earlier they have also lost all there constructors points from the season so far. Will hit them with the prize money at the end of the year unless they have an amazing end to the year & score 30+ points to get back to there prior position while hoping STR struggle to score.

So Williams isn't last in the constructors standings...... For a weekend at least :flag:

From what I have read elsewhere, the problem is this;

-FIF1's assets (the factory, the machinery, the cars, the contracts etc.) entirely belonged to the company that was placed into administration, and were then placed into the holdership of the administrators. But the company itself was still 'owned' by Vijay Mallya, Michel Mol, Diageo and others, and the F1 entry could not be placed with the rest of the assets. You can't sell an F1 entry. You aren't allowed to. The only way an entry can change hands is if a company that owns an entry is bought out by someone else. In this case, Stroll would need to buy the company that owns FIF1's entry. But in order to buy the company he has to deal with Mallya's creditors and the Indian banks that represent them, as they control Mallya's assets.

-When Stroll made the deal with the creditors for the assets, it was predicated on the belief that Stroll could come to a deal with the creditors for the shares within a 14 day timeframe. He failed. These were the conditions set out by the administrators to all interested parties, and is why Mazepan's backers were trying to block the deal earlier in the week - they had withdrawn an offer believing that the administrators' timeframe was inadequate, and they are of the opinion that Stroll's failure vindicates that belief and also reinforces their belief that the process was rigged against them.

-So there is now a situation where Stroll owns the assets but has no chance of owning the shares and therefore the entry. Liberty have kept trying to persuade the less enthusiastic teams to let a new 'Force India' entry join the championship with a new entry, and allow them to claim their historic prize money with the added sweetener that 'New Force India' starts from zero. Considering the news that has since come out, this may have been successful - Papa Stroll may have greased the wheels with Williams in particular.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

And, like most investors, daddy Stroll will sell the team again in 2 or 3 years.

I wonder if they will ever be brave enough to fire baby Stroll when he underperforms.

If it's a new entry, why keep the Force India part of the name? Racing Point F1 Mercedes is good enough, there's no allegiances to FI now.

I'm assuming it is something to do with why Sauber were forced to keep the name BMW-Sauber in 2010.

Constructor is force India. That didn’t change. They didn’t build a complete new car. I expect that the name will be dropped completely.

If I read everything correctly Mallya tried to fuck everyone over once more. Some teams only thought short term once again. Stroll sr forfeited all price money for the foreseeable future.

If I am correct on the last part, say what you want about stroll jr but kudos to sr for doing that.
Yes we’re stuck with jr for a long time but 400 people kept their job and we kept 10 F1 teams. He just as well could stay at Williams or buy a seat with another team.
