Red Bull took their car and did a pit stop in zero gravity. full flipping the car over, in mid air, during the tire swap.

My main take away from that video was that Red Bull could do a pit stop, free falling in a plane, fully flipping the car over, in mid air, during the tire swap, in less time than it took Mercedes to change Hamilton's wing at their home gp.

As cool as that video/idea is, the editing of it was pretty shitty. Didn't actually see much of the car or the changing of wheels floating in zero G. Was more of a stylized video. A BTS with a finished shot would probably have been better.

You don't want to mess that up either, the zero-G time is short and in-between the bouts is a 2G period where you just lay down and hate your life until it goes zero again. The car also keeps its mass so they're still manipulating an 800kg mass with the inertia that comes with it, and they've got to drop it down gently before the time is up or both the car and a couple guys are going to have a bad time. It's a nice achievement.

oh stink! :( His commentary on those reviews was so funny!

His travelogue set during the '81 Vegas GP was quite a treat.

Wonder why he wouldn't allow his name in games?

I first thought he was planning to have his own games like Andretti Racing. (I remember that CART Precision Racing had Michael Andretti replaced by team-boss Carl Haas)

I've seen this a hundred times before...but did Salazar deliberately have him off? He almost seemed to accelerate to T bone him and was never going to make the corner. Perhaps judging by Piquet's reaction it might have been a possibility lol.

As much of a fan of Salazar as I am (being the only chilean to actually reach top-tier motorsport), I'd say he just messed up really bad.

I don't think he deliberately tried to take Piquet out. Nelson was a big support for Eliseo when he tried to make it in Europe. And that's the reason why Piquet was really angry at him after that incident.

Just one of those dumb moves every driver makes at some point.

Piquet's engine about to go pop any way and that actually sparred BMW an embarrassment at home sine Patrese already had in the other Brabham.

Simulated lap showing some of the changes they will be making to Zandvoort.

Pirelli are apparently concerned about the addition of the banking at the final corner given how all they will be able to do is increase minimum pressures when they would ideally like to use a tyre specifically designing to cope with the banking.

I...kinda like it..

I dunno for modern F1 cars though

They'll probably do whatever is possible to avoid a farce a-la USGP '05

Jus do it, if the tyres can't take a few degrees of banking for a few seconds each lap they've more to worry about than just racing there.

Charlie told them to put the wall at the edge of the track at Luyendijkbocht, even before they thought of the banking.

For just about the entire rest of the track they will be lucky to top 160mph. It's Monaco but with fewer very slow corners and grass. Looks fun.

All the braking zones are far too short, combined with the dirty air issue, Zandvoort is going to be a complete procession in the dry IMO.

At least it has its own character unlike all the Tilkedromes. I rather watch differently boring races week to week than all the same slightly less boring race over and over.
