Mmm, they're quietly confident at Brackley. China was one of the few places their old car looked genuinely competitive in race-spec...

Practise means nothing, plus that Mercedes is horrid in race pace, but I am willing to be proven wrong

If Mercedes has made their car milder to the tires, I can see them finally break Top 6 this season.

Could the next race be when people stop being naive and think Schumi will finish on the podium?

I'd put money on Schumi being on pole, but Rosberg is stating the tyre issues for the race are not resolved yet.

Without DRS Lewis was hitting about 300Kph, With DRS he was hitting the limiter at 314Kph.

Fastest I saw down the straght via the Rev-Counter was Rosberg who was hitting 321 with DRS open, Schumacher was about the same. With DRS closed both Merc's were getting to around 297.

Spotted Red Bull at about 298 with DRS closed, About 317 with DRS open.

Alonso - 316 with DRS, 296 without DRS.

Di Resta had the Helmet-Cam this morning:

If the Mercedes are up the front with great qualifying, will they start a train behind them in the race? Their race pace hasn't been great and with great top line speed they could be difficult to pass.

Possibly. But they'll get nailed on the traction zones and the fact that their Super DRS won't be as effective in the race.

If they eat their tyres to any extent like they have been known to, then they'll be easily passed through either pit strategy or an overtake through the mid section of the circuit.
