#F1 By the way: No penalty against @kamui_kobayashi. Telemetry shows clearly, he slowed down sufficiently and he didn't use KERS or DRS.

The stewards obviously don't go by sector times alone nowadays. Button has on two occasions this year set a green sector under a yellow flag and got no penalty.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

It would be silly if they went on Sector time alone. Take S1 at Suzuka. Someone could have gone off at T1 and a driver backed off, but then nailed the Esses and set a personal best.

The issue is that normal people's idea of "backed off" is more than being a tenth slower.

If it's double waved yellows, I always remember it was 'slow down and be prepared to stop.' I don't know if a flashing yellow light is as serious as double waved yellows, but backing off by a tenth is nothing. If there was oil down, that tenth wouldn't save you from joining the accident scene.

How do you know he was only a tenth slower in that area? I didn't think that the timing loop data was released to the public.

I think there are two lights on each gantry so that both can flash if it is a situation meriting double waved yellows.

However, I honestly can't remember the last time when a scene meriting double waved yellows in F1 wasn't instead covered by the safety car. It seems to be more of a junior series thing nowadays.

Hopefully Kamui makes the start of his life and puts himself in front of Vettel before the first turn.

The onboard delta lap time. He was at -0.22 as he entered Spoon, -0.14 as he exited Spoon. I would assume that was relative to his Q2 time.

Now that is assuming that he backed off, who's to say that he didn't make a small mistake and was slower through the corner?

How come neither Webber or Raikkonen were penalized for the incident involving Di Resta in Q2? Both were going stupidly slow out if 130R and basically blocked Di Resta's run into the chicane.

Webber was fine because he was off line, Grosjean I don't know why they didn't penalise him!

Webber was very borderline. He was incredibly slow and barely off the line. Di Resta had to make a significant change of direction to go around him. The Lotus was inexcusable.

I'm preparing myself for a terribly dull race, so I'm hoping my low expectations allow me to enjoy the race much more.

Well I think with Webber you could actually see him looking in his mirrors and move over. I think that saved his bacon. With Grosjean I haven't seen his onboard, but from the Skypad it looked like he may have been blocked himself? and didn't have the awareness or nouns to look in his mirrors like Webber did. But if JEV got a penalty so should have he.

Fair 'nuff.

Clearly the stewards thought that was enough.

I like Kamui that much I'd have probably let him off even if he had splatted a few marshals.

Kamui always does crappy starts when he is p4 or better, webber is another person incapable of making a good start, so I guess vettel will be going 53 laps into an easy win, hopefully he has a bad start grosjean a good one and wreck him of the race

I wouldn't want a championship to be decided like that. After all, in the "buggered by external factors" table, Vettel is already 3-1 against Alonso.

I was trying to listen to hear how much Kamui backed off
