There is a technical drawing of the system here:

And because everyone knows about it this early on in the offseason, they'll all have it by Melbourne and any advantage Renault can get out of it will be minimal, if any.

Cept developing something like this, testing it and niggling out any problems along with the already insane amount of development they will be undertaking would be a massive ask and probably take longer than the time to Melbourne.

Some HRT news, courtesy of an interview with Jacky Eeckelaert in a Belgian magazine

Jerome d’Ambrosio, Vitaly Petrov and Bruno Senna were the candidates named.

"He hasn’t really confirmed himself after several chances. We are looking more for a young driver with a lot of potential,” - On Liuzzi

"The same goes for the drivers approaching retirement,”, (which raises the question as to why they signed Pedro)

"I don’t think it’s in the interests of the team to have a second Spanish driver,” - ruling out Alguersuari, Clos et al

'The new owners decided to move the team with the result that 90 per cent of the staff in Germany will not follow us' - Lolwoops

'We hope to continue our battle at the back of the pack with Virgin. It is difficult to aim higher.'

FIA have now declared it legal:

And as expected at least 1 team has already got there own version of the system submitted to the FIA for approval.

If the other teams are copying it that quickly then Lotus aren't going to claim any advantage at all by the time the season starts.

Better luck next year.

Who's to say that other teams haven't been developing their own versions for the same length of time?

That appears to be already downgraded to hurt his leg, slipping on an icy road. Gotta love the internet.

Kubica has re-opened the fracture in his right tibia - so recovery will be set back a few weeks.

What else is new? Ferrari with a possible car-disadvantage at the start of the season..

But no Brawn GP-dream for Lotus with this.

Autosport has reported that Kubica has broken his leg again.

SHame for him but at least he is not driving this season as it would have affected Lotus' plans for this season.

If teams are already submitting their own versions then they would have had to be developing them for quite a while now.

On Kubica, It must have been a pretty decent impact already if he breaks a leg in it.

It seems that Sutil could be up the proverbial creek. Apparently proceedings against him will be starting shortly with a maximum of 12 months imprisonment. Hamilton may be called as a witness.
