It doesn't really count as a win, F1 has kinda fudged this since they brought the sprints in but, it's like 1/4 of the Distance, doesn't have a pit stop and isn't as much of an achievement

It was fine when it was clear it was for pole in the race, but now it's in a no-man's land of between a pole and a win and no-one can quite decide what it counts for .

Yeah these are kind of my thoughts, a sprint win is cool and all but we all know Max would have won that if it was a full length GP

2/3 Max's titles have come in the most anticlimactic ways. First he didn't know until he was almost on the podium and now this.

interesting to see that the last time a driver won the championship prior to the race was his father in law 36 years ago

also Piastri displaying he is world championship material, once he opens the floodgates and a good car kicks in early he'll be in contention

Alpine is having nightmares for not signing Piastri.

The first one also happened in quite surreal circumstances, to say the least.

Maybe next year he can clinch it normally. But knowing Domenicali, they will have 10 sprint races next year and maybe points for pole and sprint shootout as well, so more chances for anticlimactic championship deciders.

Awful, just terrible, I would have much preferred a boring practice session over that action packed awesome sprint race
