I think you're on to something there - any team going into the season with no experienced drivers is at a disadvantage when it comes to comparing things to last year, or indeed previous years. Stoll has 0 experience, but Massa is one of the most experienced drivers out there, and one of the few (nowadays) with proper, regular testing experience. Williams would have been counting on decent feedback from Bottas, and now at least can fall back on Massa's experience.

When you are given those stipulations, you don't defy them, it might be the modern thing to not do what you are asked because it's the cool thing to do, but fortunately the people running Williams are old enough to know which side the bread has butter on.

Ron Dennis has only ever had two liveries (as a team boss) in F1. Red and white, and silver / grey with black. I wouldn't hold out much hope.
