Like the "European" grand Prix will be run next season... Then again, Bernie will probably find another country that could technically host the European grand prix.

Monza doesn't need F1. No circuits need F1. Circuits don't need to put themselves on the verge of bankruptcy for the sake of a sporting event.

That plus running the risk of turning into one big piece of asphalt.

What track would they use? It better not be a parking-lot-fenced-off-90deg-turns-fest, or a goddamn infield on the speedway. Street course on the Strip or GTFO

There is a few permanent road courses near Las Vegas (LVMS, SpeedVegas, Spring Mountain) but I doubt any of them would be upgrading to Grade 1 soon, LVMS only uses the infield course for a driving experience now I think as they have 2 or 3 road courses outside of the oval now. One is for Legends and club racing while the other is for a 2nd driving experience.

Apparantly "Two individuals" as Bernie said, are interested in buying F1.

To be fair it was DORNA that demanded the changes at the Parabolica but your point still stands (looking at you COTA).

I fear just more corporate leeches only interested in making a quick buck and not the long term prosperity of the sport :-(

But who would buy it now?
Only option is to buy cheap and sell high. So the new owner must invest to make F1 great again. Whomever they sell it to we must worry about.

Lance Stroll world champion for years on end despite consistantly ramming into everyone including the SC...

if Lance can't win in a track, that track would be stripped away from the calendar and they would repeat in a track he won before

that's pretty much how you murder the sport quickly

Were they also responsible for the T1 change or the tarmac in T2? Because I don't know :D

Teams have only now started to run simulations around the 2017 regulations & have found that drivers will be put through sustained loads of 5.5G with the cars capable of "Extreme" cornering performance but been slower in a straight line & it seems there are big concerns about the effect this will have on the cars ability to race/overtake.

http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/analy ... rs-682998/

I think they should just scrap them, Go away & come up with a set of regulations aimed at improving the racing rather than purely chasing lap records & 'extreme' performance.

TBH I think for next year all thats really needed are a few tweaks to the existing regulations. Ban a lot of the crap that has grown on the front wings, Give them a higher fuel flow, Give them more overall fuel for a race & go back to 6 or 7 speed transmissions & allow them to adjust gear ratios each weekend.

Do those things the racing should be better as I think the biggest issue with current cars is how badly the overly complex front wings are affected by the dirty air. The higher fuel flow, total fuel allowance (And having less gears with ratios they are free to change each weekend) may well allow them to run more revs which will not only give more performance but also more volume.
