And Bernie thinks its ok to go back there

So does the FIA. Only FOTA managed to stop it this season. But given Whitmarsh is the FOTA Chairman, and the Bahrain government owns a substantial part of McLaren, don't rely on them stopping it for 2012.

But then again, if they go to China, what's the problem with Bahrain? There isn't much difference between the 2.

Glock has started doing simulator work at McLaren, so there's a positive step for Virgin

Although this is from a purely outsiders view, Lewis is in an unfortunate situation where his Manager/Agent simply isn't a proper agent. He's a marketing representative. He's good at marketing people and negotiating media deals. He isn't a motorsport manager. It may not matter too much whilst he's in a safe seat at McLaren, but in the future this might be a sticking point.

Vettel is two and half years younger than Hamilton. He's won 2 WDCs and 20 GPs. He's never had agent or manager.

Quote:
Sebastian Vettel has agreed a new deal which will keep him at Red Bull until the end of 2014. And unlike Lewis Hamilton, who on Monday announced his decision to sign with Simon Fuller’s global management agency XIX Entertainment, it emerged that the man who replaced him as Formula One’s youngest world champion had negotiated the terms of his contract extension.

It was an approach which his team principal, Christian Horner, described as “refreshing”.

“It’s very rare for someone who is so young to be so in control of his own destiny,” Horner said before comparing Vettel’s approach to Hamilton’s. “It’s very refreshing that he doesn’t have a big management group telling him what to do or where to do it.

“Sebastian is very protective of his time. He is not interested in, for want of a better word, ‘profiling’ or anything like that. He is very focused on being a racing driver and is protective of his time to train and prepare for grands prix. That works for him. Obviously Lewis has chosen to go a different route.

“With the demands he has placed on himself that will work for him. No two drivers are the same. It is whatever suits the individual concerned. With Sebastian it has been very straightforward.”

He doesn't need one because he's got Helmut Marko.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Sure he has. It's called Red Bull. He's been in the driver training program for as long as he's been in motorsport. When you're entire career is based on moving up with 1 company, you don't need a manager.

No different than Hamilton. Who's been with McLaren since he was 13. He may not have Marko. But Whitmarsh and Dennis have always stood by him.

News today:
- Kubica's deadline has been extended into November because of the stability of the 2012 driver market
- Hulkenberg will replace Sutil next season, according to Autosport magazine. Hulkenberg and di Resta's contractes expired last weekend and both were renewed. Sutil thought to be heading to Williams next season, if the team can't get Raikkonen.

Not a great move from Sutil, but I guess there's nowhere else to go. I've always thought he's done enough to be given a chance at one of the top teams, even if it's just as a number 2 driver.

It would be good to see Hulk back on the grid though. I was thinking about his pole at Brazil earlier today.

And why exactly do we race in China? Don't get me wrong, I'm disgusted by the "cash rules everything", but isolating Bahrain from other countries, which are not one bit better... Well, I guess Bernie needs the money for his retirement fonds, which kinda makes me as a human kinda sad. But then again, that's a society problem.

Well, I'd say if he wants because I really doubt that he will come back and if then it's definitely not Williams. They're way too bad.

Kimi has already been to the factory on at least one occasion.

The only thing in the way of the deal is money. SFW is trying to get a Qatari bank to pay Kimi's salary, and if they agree it's a done deal.

I find Sutil like Heidfeld: Good racer, but wouldn't miss him

Quite a big difference though, because McLaren are not active in lower ranks. Red Bull has actually managed Vettel all the way through, whilst Lewis was managed by his father. Whilst the McLaren and Lewis bond is stronger than almost any other on the grid, it is different to Vettels situation.

F1 cars of the future?

Of course its a fanboy concept : http://www.iacoski.com/fx-i1_closed_cockpit_concept/

But what do people think? I personally think its hideous, but could we see cars like this in the future?

If it was a bit thinner, it would be quite good looking.

To the Batmobile! (the old one, that is)

But honestly, you're all going to shoot me, but I like how that looks.
