I know this sounds like a random point, but has anyone else been disappointed with the quality of drives this season? I mean, last year when I was sorting out rating the drivers for an article, it was really hard to decide a top 7 as they were quite close. But this year, you've got Vettel, Alonso, Button and Hamilton easily in the top 4, probably Webber 5th but then who? I mean someone has to be 6th best this season. No-one has really stood out: Schumacher too inconsistent; sometimes brilliant sometimes appalling. Rosberg has had a pretty bad year, whilst Massa has had his arse handed to him again. Similarly, no-one from the midfield has really stood out as a 'Wow' factor. Perhaps Kobayashi & Alguersuari occasionally, but still. Anyone else agree?

I'd agree it's very hard to choose, but I'd throw di Resta in the hat for that 6th place. I know he's made plenty of rookie errors, but his speed is totally evident.

No way Di Resta is the 6th best driver of 2011!

Exactly, there's so many drivers who have been average this season.

not his fault....

he's actually saying some stuff thats true

According to Giedo van der Garde, success in feeder category GP2 is no guide as to whether a driver will succeed in formula one

Give him a shot. He would probably be the next Albers, but at least I´ve got someone to cheer for for a few races!

vdG is saying D'Ambrosio is doing well in F1. I can't say I've noticed that.

Looking at Glock I wouldn't say he's doing too bad.

The car's an even bigger shitpile than it was last year, it's not a great basis for comparison.

With Symonds overseeing the design of a proper car using proper methods and by half-decent designers, next year should be a better tell.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

And you're what nationality? :p [/joking]

You can clearly see that Kobayashi has done well since getting into F1. You cannot say the same for D'Ambrosio. The car isn't great and having a couple of good qualifying sessions against Glock doesn't mean anything.
