Could make the Indian GP interesting

Quote:
Hundreds of angry Indian farmers have threatened to sabotage the new Buddh circuit, near New Delhi, the venue scheduled to host the inaugural Indian grand prix in October, over 300 farmers on Wednesday staged a protest near the site.

DNA India said they are angry at how their lands were acquired to make room for the project.

Calling themselves the Bhartiya Kisan Union, they are threatening to “dismantle the racing track with force if necessary” if their demands are not met.

They reportedly drafted a letter to authorities demanding money, educational placements and the establishment of industries to generate employment.

“We are warning you that if our demands are taken casually, we will be forced to launch an agitation,” the farmers wrote.

Pot, kettle, black etc. etc.

Gotta love Jacques.

Also seems quite friendly to a man who once pissed in his water bottle.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

Wat.

Firstly, Kimi could, and perhaps should, have won in 2003 and 2005. Neither failures were his fauly.

Secondly, Massa has yet to finish higher than 5th this year. That is utterly appalling in a Ferrari that has won a race in the hands of Alonso.

Massa certainly didn't deserve it in 2007. If anything I think Hamilton did.

In 2008 it was hard to say which of Massa and Hamilton deserved it more.

Probably Hamilton because of all the penalties. But then again Massa had car problems although - best car with issues vs 2nd best without them

Oh, and good luck Jenson.

2008 was a poor season for driver talent really. Those who were the best were in the wrong cars (Alonso for one), and those in the best cars either underperformed (Raikkonen) or, in my view, were out of place in a big team (i.e. Kovalainen).

Kimi had a bad year in 2008 because of his qualifying problems. For the summer part of the season, he couldn't get the tyres to work and Ferrari weren't really helping him sort them out.

I feel that Hamilton was much better in 2007 than 2008 and deserved to win his rookie season more than the following one. I feel that 2009 was a poor season for driver talent - Alonso still won 2 races in 2008 with that Renault, but in 2009 he was in a bloody awful car, as was Hamilton for half a season.

2009 was just bizarre really. It was like playing an F1 game where you get to alter the grid to make it deliberately unusual.

Yeah, and the fact that the order seemed to change every weekend. One week Hamilton was winning, the next he was down in 14th place.

What was surprising was that it happened immediately after a rule change, doesn't it usually happen after a period of time when everyone is building the same car. Though I guess what might have happened was everybody built midfield cars.

I'd disagree with that. Everyone always points to the Nurburgring where he blew up from the lead, but everyone forgets the number of times he cocked up in qualifying and had to start from near the back, or went off the road in races. 2005 I can't really remember. :p

And Massa was just as strong in 2008. I think he lost a fair amount of points through reliability problems. Taking nothing away from Kimi though, he never gave up at the end.

Autosport magazine says Interlagos plans to build a new pits complex in time for the 2012 event - either upgrading the current pits or building a new complex that would move the start/finish line down between the current T3 and 4

I hope they just upgrade the current one, would be weird if the S/F wasn't on the hill
