Even though in logistics sense it's child's play compared to the Olympics?

Problem is, MotoGP and even F1 are financially also child's play compared to the Olympics. If they had the chance to put the Olympics on at the expense of other sports, the choice is sadly obvious.

and race promoters also rely on ticket sales to make a profit so races there are not possible unless Liberty gives some discounts

There's also the fact an Olympics host country cannot actually make the decision to call off the Olympics, only the IOC can. Just another way it's like a respectable mafia. F1 does know how to hold hosts to ransom but nothing like the IOC.

but the IOC doesn't have like backups for the Olympics, such as going to a place where there's structure like Beijing or London?

plus the way the Olympics, trying to host almost all sports in one town is quite nonsense nowadays, they should had decentralize the disciplines to several places instead of just one

Don't get why re-fuelling gets so much flack, it didn't cause the boring races back then in that era, the cars did.

It adds another strategy element into the mix, I don't see why it's a problem. Better than the (mostly) one-stop era races we get these days where drivers lift and coast and set low fuel mixture levels for 30-laps.

but for that they need to also to get rid of that stupid high reliability rules, because refuelling allowed cars to go to the limit, and that meant engines going kaput on those glorious puff of smoke

cars should be punished not for high fuel flow, but for not racing on the edge

This is the great myth of the refueling era, when in reality teams would back off to save fuel after lap 2 or so and save it for full beans blast during the overcut.

Refueling, like anything else on the cars, would just be another element for them to tell their drivers to back off and conserve.
Hell, how many indycar races this season have been won by a driver who saved more fuel and went from mid grid to the lead without passing a single car on track.

It's an unnecessary expense and added danger just to make the racing so much worse.

that's why they could try shaving 10 laps off races and ban pit stops

if they keep saving equipment, then is time take away money from teams who are deliberately doing that

Which one is it? The first layout looks far more flowing and interesting. The second has Tilke written all over it. Still, it's not Sochi.

Looks like a pretty decent track, has a bit of elevation too. Lap times may be a bit short though.

Russian mafia is doing a lot of things to launder their dirty money, even building new tracks for the motherland gp
