you got to say F1 has a pretty crappy record with United States grand prix, no wonder they love Nascar much more

If its plainly obvious the weather is going to be really bad all day & that there is very little chance of getting cars on track today they should call it sooner rather than later. Having everyone travel out to the track to stand around in the pits/paddock/grandstands for no reason is idiotic & pointless.

Sky News saying that the FIA are going to make an announcement regarding the rest of the weekend shortly.

They also played a short clip with Christian Horner saying that the rules about what happens if qualifying can't be run were changed fairly recently & that if qualifying can't be run the starting order will be decided based on the results of the last completed session which in this case would be FP1.

The rules are saying:
Quote:
If more than one driver falls into a single category in b) or d) above they will be arranged on
the grid in the order they were classified in the previous period of qualifying or, in the case of
Q1, the order they were classified in P3.

The rules don't say anything about a grid position without a qualifying session.
They only refer to P3 if drivers don't set a time in Q1.

In the past, the grid was based on numerical order, but that is not possible anymore.

I think if they cannot qualify, they should try a reverse grid based on the championship. :)

 Reverse grid sounds good.
But the FP1 grid wouldnt be bad either.

There will be no race anyway as nobody qualified for 107%

Once again the FIA shows it's completely out of touch with reality. Those old senile fucks should have cancelled all day.
Really really poor judgement once again.

Have the FIA made any judgement though? From what I saw all they've done is put off making a decision until later. Remember what they did in Russia for the GP3 session on Friday...

So this is the same FIA that said in Bianchi accident report that poor light was contributing factor to his crash and that they would no longer allow running in similar conditions? Good to see they are still proving themselves to be incompetent hypocrites.

Could you explain your view on the 107% rule please?

How do you factor in those that didn't run in FP1? Back of the grid?

Minus the flooding in the pits.

Now we've got that as well.

Well, in this case its only Maldonado who didnt set a time, so he ll just start at the back of the grid I guess.

What gives? How easy is it to reschedule it since we know the rain will be only light or nonexistent tomorrow.

Exactly what I mean, why even wait? This isn't about the circuit conditions for the cars, but the situation around the circuit for the fans. Ridiculous.
