Not impressed with Lotus their "massive" update yet. Not suprised if it will be a double DRS situation once again with them postponing the update every race after fp2.

Thats's why Kimi was cautiously optimistic. He's seen this kind of talk before. 2004 McLaren B car springs to mind.

I would be slightly peeved if I were one of the sponsors on the bottom of the side pods as the car number is the biggest decal on the car! Not exactly a lack of advertising space is there?

But those are suppliers logos, and the reason they're small is they pay a relatively tiny amount for it.

Thanks for killing me there Ellis! Though I would have though at least one of them might have requested and paid to have a bigger logo as not exactly much else on there.

There's only one sponsor on that car that pays anything, and that's Tata (all the other logo's are Tata owned products). The ones on the bottom of the sidepods are probably contingency type sponsors and are on every car (or like Dave says, suppliers).

BTW during FP2 Ted Kravitz said that teams are allowed to cut down to 4 cylinders mid corner & this was the cause of any strange sounds people were talking about from some cars.

Isn't that just basically acting like Traction Control by limiting the power/torque going to the rear wheels under acceleration? Also sounds just as horrid as TC did & I'd ban it on that alone :yuk:

Wouldn't that fall under changing the maps of the engine, which is banned anyway?
The only time they are able to change the maps while the engine is running is during the warmup stage or when antistall kicks in.

Which is pretty cool and should happen more often.

Indeed! It's what I found from my very brief experience; every team is so insular.

Gangnam style ruins F1 as much as the F1 ruins the Gangnam style. Oil and water don't mix, IMO.

Gangnam Style just had to take off a month before the Korean GP, didn't it?

Ok, it has been done now. Let's hope it will be given a rest for the rest of the weekend.
