Was it Barcelona this year or last year when they gave reprimands for fastest sectors in a yellow flag zone despite having the soft tire on? Does the Mika Hakkinen defense still hold up?

I don't think they allow that anymore. Maybe on a straight, since lifting off on a straight will have no real effect, but not in spoon.

No because the FIA have far more data available to them & thats what they use now.

I believe the stewards look at telemetry, timing loop data (Timing loops are placed every 200m I believe) & also look at the GPS to compare to past laps.

I'm sure Sauber will be delighted to see who split them...

Hamilton did his 1st run on the tyres he used in Q2, Since that was his fastest lap he'll have to start on those tyres so that will probably hurt his 1st stint tomorrow.

Davidson just highlighted the split delta on Kamui's wheel which compared his lap to his previous fastest, he was 2 tenths down going into spoon & was 1 tenth up on the exit. That seems to show he gained time through spoon so he could be in trouble.

When asked about it Kamui said he didn't use DRS so should be OK.

Watching the replay FOM played with the Rev-Counter, He opened DRS but then closed it again & didn't re-open it untill he passed the green flag.

I thought it was -0.2s and then -0.1s, meaning he lost 0.1s.

Having watched it again I think your right.

I mis-heard what Ant had said, Thought he said 2 tenths down & then 1 tenth up.

Is it just me, or is that UBS ad inside Spoon corner computer made, and later added to the TV image? It looked unbelievably clean...

by not posting the reason, no-one will know why, phil :p

Looks like he held up Alonso in the very last corners...
but I guess there is nothing coming.

Anyway:

I woke up during the night, couldn't remember why I had got up and so went back to sleep. Only waking up for the day reminded me why I'd got up.

Yeah, I know he's mad and I don't care. I do not care. I did not care then. I do not care now. I'm here to race him.

I think Sebastian can consider himself rather fortunate that he wasn't given a proper penalty

I think the problem with that one is that Sebastian made an effort to get out of the way, but was still in the way. It's like Webber and Grosjeans one. Webber was in the way, but made an effort not to be. Meanwhile Grosjean and Vergne made no real efforts. Somehow Grosjean has escaped a penalty for creating a 200mph moving chicane for di Resta, but Vernge has been bitch slapped for a slower incident.

It all seems rather inconsistent again.

Oh, and nothing for Kobayashi? We were onboard as he ran through the yellows without slowing down. Same as Jenson in Monza...

The problem is that Kobayashi appeared to be 0.1s slower than either his Q2 run or Vettel's time through that particular area. It is utterly nothing, but legally it's fine!

I think it's more dangerous what Grosjean did, but Vergne's was worse as it was a complete block. di Resta could find his way through. I'd like them to implement a rule next year that means they can't do that in S3.

We blame the drivers a lot, but the teams should also be held responsible. They find gaps for the drivers to send them out, and they tell them when to slow down and the gaps to make. Grosjeans lack of awareness (shocker) was obviously punishable, but the teams are not innocent in these situations.

Oh yeah, they have all this fancy data so it shouldn't happen. Especially in Q3, when logically there should be enough space for 10 cars...

Hamilton was 0,1s quicker in his 2nd run in Q3.

I really hope that Koba doesn't get a penalty, because I want to see him get a podium in his home race. Realistically though, how can it not be a penalty? It's crazy that drivers can get out of the situation by saying it wasn't their fastest sector. Losing half a tenth hardly proves that you're driving safely.
