Stable just means stable. It's better than critical, but doesn't mean "out of danger". Really not.

From BBC:

Emergency medical charity Magpas, which helped to treat Villota at the scene, said she had suffered "facial and head injuries" and was in a stable condition on her arrival at hospital.

that sounds more positive.

They posted that on their twitter account about 40 minutes ago:

Quote:
Typically, stable is not a condition on its own; it is usually qualified with a true condition. It is commonly used to denote conditions where a patient has a favorable prognosis or stable vital signs.

Wasn't Massa critical for the whole Saturday after his incident in Hungary? That's the only recent accident that is similar to this one. It was at higher speed with a "small" flying object, so I don't know how that compares to this lower speed accident against a much more solid object.

Here's audio from a radio guy who was at the scene. There's also audio from the incident itself.

Thanks for the audio stuff, it's not nice hearing the impact and then the worried reaction of some people. I hope the best for Maria.

I want the piece of news that says everything is OK, so we can all have a deep breath and then joke about "lol gurls racein"

Post subject:  Re: Maria de Villota injured

I'd like a piece of reliable news rather than speculation from media that's totally unconfirmed. That said, I hope the Spanish media are correct.
