We'll get used to the name. We've had cheesier team names before, like... Force India. Super Aguri

Force India made sense to some extent. Super Aguri just sounds like a typical name for a Japanese team.
Racing Point is bland and lacks real meaning or relevance

Found this article and input by Luciano Burti interesting: https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/141323/burti-senna-safety-improvements-saved-my-life

I get that the HALO discussion is getting boring, but from a guy who been in some crazy accidents and claiming "I don't like the halo, I don't think it's necessary" it's pretty bold.

funny that Force India had a lame name before that when they called Midland

for me the worst names picked by team are Marussia, Footwork. Leyton House was quite farcical though but the cars at least looked great

Footwork and Leyton House are classic names :(

Apparently Racing Point was shopping around for names and one of the options was Lola but they got rejected and now will stick with Racing Point.

terrible name IMHO

The implication of David Brabham's interview today suggests they went after Brabham too

Looks like, at some point last year, the Brabham name may have been sought after for the Rich Force Point Energy Racing of India team. :D

Yes indeed. Although both names weren't around that long, I think three years each in total. Strange how in some case those names are more memorable and classic than the originals - Arrows and March.

Jordan
Spyker
Midland
Force India

Hmmm...what's next. What is the purpose of this operation we have?

Lance Racing
Racing Stoll

No no no, we want to be a a racing team that has a point. Like those great teams back in the day. Can we buy an old name?

Lola
Brabham

How about Lotus? No, it's been used too many times. Well if we can't get any manufacturers backing us up, then what's the point?

Racing Point.

OK, that'll do.

--------------

That's how I like to imagine the team naming went.

It's cool, but that "peak" looks slapped over it like... like an ugly sticker on a car. Sorry, couldn't think of a smart analogy.

Unrelated, I can't be the only alcoholic who thinks whiskey cocktail of some sort, rather than clothing when they see "Jack and Jones"?

I noticed that they have moved the mirrors further outboard, But did they not move them inboard in 2010 (In both F1 & GP2) because drivers complained they didn’t have a good view of the outboard mirrors?

If I recall the problem was that with them on the side of the cockpit drivers can get a glimpse of a car having a look to get alongside them in there peripheral vision but when they were mounted outboard until 2010 they didn’t have any sight of the mirrors unless they actually glanced over at them which was leading to situations where drivers were been suddenly surprised finding a car alongside them which was leading to some silly looking accidents.
