Sirotkin hasn't blamed Lewis and painted it as just one of those things.

A sensible choice, given the engine in the back of his car.

What Sirotkin also said was that Williams didn’t expect to get through to Q2 so had no tyres ready, which forced him to use a set from Q1 and his aggressiveness throughout the outlap was due to needing to heat the tyres.

This demonstrates your earlier point perfectly. Things like this are bound to happen when the tyres are so peaky. It's basically no different to the qualifying tyres in the 80s.

Oh, Lewis walked it back according to Autosport:

Lewis Hamilton wrote:
Morning world. I woke this morning feeling I should correct some of the words I used yesterday. I was wrong, it wasn't a disrespectful move by Sergey, it was a misunderstanding and I honestly attempted to get out of his way. Didn't work that well but shit happens and I respect the way he handled it.

Apparently it was posted to his Instagram. I can't see it on there now, but good on him for admitting he was out of line.

I lost any respect, if I had any left, for F1 stewards. Spineless, miserable pussies.

Vettel and Hamilton deserved grid penalties, for different reasons, one was deliberate and the other a honest mistake, they had various degrees of disrespect or actual danger, but BOTH incidents cannot just be waved with a reprimand and what amounts to a couple pennies fine.

F1 official site calls the fine "hefty". That's pocket change for those teams and drivers, come on.

What's been lost in all this penalty controversy is Ferrari already have this race locked up

With their choice of soft tyres in Q2, they are in the pound seats today. Hamilton may even hold the lead with his supersofts, but those tyres coupled with Mercedes known blistering issues means he'll be pitting way before Vettel and probably behind kimi for some interesting ferrari tactics

Congrats Vettel winner of a boring, dry race, etc

Both showed no respect to rules, other drivers and organization of FIA/F1.
Just disgusting behavior and they both are horrible role models for young drivers/sportsmen.
F1 is now a bunch of idiots making marketing revenue through "superhero" publicity instead of real tension and quality racing. The F1 bosses have no idea at all.

Two years living in São Paulo have taught me that we must never take a sunny day for granted. Let's see.
