I rather enjoyed having a break from Crofty this weekend, Harry Benjamin did a great job. Sounded a bit nervous initially, but overall did a much better job than Crofty.

I used to loathe Chandhok as a commentator (he's great at expert analysis though) but he did a great job too.

I went to sleep after the pitstops and boy I'm glad I did.

Agreed, nice to have a calmer voice for a change. I didn't like the multiple references of "100% certainty of a safety car" though.

I missed Croft, Benjamin is nice, but Croft is the best.

I've got friends who work in the media who say that behind the scenes, he isn't the nicest of characters (nothing overly sinister), since then I've thought he could be a bit obnoxious and silly at times.

He doesn't do the worst job, he's still miles better than Allen, who just jerked off to the British drivers and Legard who just lost the plot and sounded like he had a stroke when something interesting happened. But I'm glad we've got a different voice every now and again.

Norris was never going to pass Max if he caught him but it added some hope to an otherwise lacklustre race. There are definitely signs that RBR might not have its way all season though this circuit does differ in characteristics to most but fingers crossed.

That´s two races in a row that Red Bull/Verstappen struggled with the tyres, and that Norris was faster in the last quarter of the race. That is hopeful!

I also liked the calmer commentary of this duo. Wouldn't even mind to make it permanent, especially if Brundle decides to retire for good.
When I had F1TV, I usually never listened to Croft on "International Feed". The only time I would do so was when Tom Gaymor was F1TV's commentator. Even natural audio was preferable in that case :p

My only option is to listen to French commentary. So you´re all lucky to listen to commentary in your own language, or a language you understand.

All you need is to sail the seven seas.

in F1TV the team is quite good, they don't shout and they often invite the good guys (DC and Hinchcliffe) to do extra commentary in the booth

What's wrong with Gaymore? During the Indycar commercial breaks he does an amazing job summarizing what's going on, especially on the strategy side.

I was so busy that I almost forgot the stats for this race

.59th win for Max Verstappen
-3rd straight win at Imola

.104th podium finish for Max Verstappen (overtakes Raikkonen for 6th overall)

.Verstappen reaches 30.73% win percentage and overtakes Hamilton as active drivers with highest win percentage ratio (4th overall when counting non-Indy 500 drivers behind Fangio, Ascari and Clark)

.39th pole position start for Max Verstappen
-8th straight pole position start (equals Ayrton Senna record from 1988 Spanish GP to 1989 US GP)
-7th straight pole position start since round 1 (equals Alain Prost record from 1993)

.3rd consecutive race that Verstappen and Norris finished in top 2 position

And completely useless things that I noticed:

Max finished the race in 1:25:25.252 and scored 25 points.

Hulkenberg did his personal fastest lap in lap 3, so in the next 60 laps with fresh tyres and a lighter car, he could never improve his pace.
