Looking how Vandoorne ended up I think next to Alonso is the last place Gasly needs to be next year...

And weren't RP saying he just had a bad stomach bug?? Man they have been exposed as shady fuckers this year. And now they will most likely be getting updated suspension next year (along with the breaks) without using tokens, further driving the knife in.

Even their statement about the positive test seems to be dodging the facts. The way Lance and Otmar's statements both read, he received a positive result, was tested again and received a negative result. No statement even close to "I contracted covid", and it's only when you look at the timeline you see that the negative test came 10 days after the positive test and after 10 days of quarantine, so yes, Lance had coronavirus.

Well, Gunther's said he's not considering Ilott. They were linked with Schumacher but Alfa seems more likely for him at the moment

To be honest, I can't see them taking two rookies. If Perez isn't being considered, it'll likely be between Grosjean, Magnussen and Hulkenberg. Given the level of esteem Grosjean is held in at the team, I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him get another year

Woops, nope.

Magnussen has also announced he's leaving Haas.

Mag leaving as well.

Seems odd to replace both drivers with big rule changes coming soon. You need people who can develop the car.

Replacing both established drivers points even more to the fact that one of them will be getting replaced with an experienced driver (i.e. Perez or Hulkenberg, my bet is on Perez).

Or they getting a paydriver and Ferrari rookie with a nice discount on the engines and take 2021 for granted and focus on 2022.

Perez to Red Bull rumours are not as loud as they were a couple of weeks back. Russell claims that he will be racing for Williams, next year.

To me, Perez to Haas seems to be the most likely option. Haas claimed that they want "Money and Talent" in the new drivers' lineup. He has Telmex money, he's clearly talented enough and they could get a young driver with money for the second seat (Mazepin? Schumacher with some sort of Ferrari engine lease benefits?)

And I really, really, really hope that Nico Hulkenberg lands that second seat at Red Bull. Knowing he's in the twilight of his career, he'd be pleased to play second fiddle to Max, getting decent points, that elusive first podium and hell, maybe an odd win in a weird race. Red Bull would be happy to have a fast and consistent second driver.

Albon will get the boot, I don't know if he'll be demoted to Alpha Tauri. Apparently Kvyat will be sacked, but some are claiming that Tsunoda will take his place...

Oh, I love Silly Season :D

Haas, by all accounts, look increasingly desperate for the money. Says a lot that they're binning off a driver with experience who brings sponsorship in Magnussen. Mazepin must be bringing a lot of cash

It's a shame to see Haas and Williams both pissing their chances of long term success up the walls by sacrificing performance for money. It never ends well

Perhaps because F1 has pushed them into that corner? Says more about the current climate than Haas themselves I think.

or they want more money to leapfrog the development of the 2022 car, even with cost caps

either that or laying ground so Dmitry Mazepin can purchase the team

Bit columns A and B. Gene Haas is quite clearly losing interest in F1. I can't see him holding out much longer before selling up, especially if Dmitry Mazepin's investing in the team

I am honestly surprised Haas (the team) has existed for as long as it has. Pretty impressive actually.

For all that Russell and Williams are saying otherwise, it looks like the split is coming - Latifi may be in trouble too: https://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/for ... ssion=true

*I know this is completely pointless but it shows how competitive the races are behind the top 3*

A few weeks ago, I calculated how the championship would look if you took the Mercedes cars and Max out of the race results. Here's an update after the last couple of races.

A poor run of races from Albon sees him lose the championship lead and drop to 4th. Ricciardo tops the standings after a win at the Nurburgring. LeClerc picks up a fourth win in Portugal, whilst Perez and Gasly make big gains.

1. Ricciardo 146
2. LeClerc 137
3. Perez 137
4. Albon 127
5. Stroll 106
6. Gasly 105
7. Norris 103
8. Sainz 96
9. Ocon 79
10. Vettel 51
11. Kvyat 47
12. Hulkenberg 20
13. Raikkonen 17
14. Giovinazzi 14
15. Magnussen 10
16. Grosjean 9
17. Latifi 4
18. Russell 4
