J.K. Vernay wins race #1

O'Keeffe won race 2. Ingall finished 2nd, I think he was the fastest out there but he spent quite a lot of laps stuck behind D'Alberto. Aaron Cameron was a close 3rd, he's been surprisingly competitive this season.

Race 3 had a similar result, with O'Keeffe and Ingall leading home D'Alberto.

Unfortunately Vernay had to withdraw from today's racing due to illness, he was replaced by Aaron Seton.

So it turns out... it probably wasn't illness that caused the withdrawal.

Bright won TCR race 1 today in a return to the form he showed at the start of the year. Will Brown was 2nd after battling for the lead with John Martin and making contact putting him off the road.

Nestor Girolami dominated in TCR Australia this weekend winning all three races. Will Brown provisionally won the championship with one round to go.

The ARG/Shannons Nationals are getting in on the esport action with a ten round series. The first event is tonight including Garth Tander, Steve Johnson, James Golding, Ash Sutton of BTCC fame and a 48 other drivers from TCR, S5000 and so forth.

That was an absolute shitshow

So much lag for the drivers and issues with the broadcast. Also a lot of crashing and bad driving but I suppose that was to be expected given the size of the field and the (I suspect) sim racing inexperience of a lot of people.

There will be 6 rounds in 2021 for the MSOZ (aka CAMS) nationals.

https://www.speedcafe.com/2020/11/02/motorsport-australia-championships-2021-calendar-revealed/

TCR will be at all of those rounds except the finale at Tailem Bend. They'll also be starting their season with two events in Tasmania (alongside S5000) and ending with a hopefully-international 500km race at Bathurst. Unfortunately it doesn't look like they will be at the Grand Prix (if that goes ahead) at this stage, but otherwise it's a pretty good calendar. All of their events will be on Channel 7. S5000's calendar will be revealed at a later date, maybe once there's more details about the Grand Prix.

Post subject:  Re: Motorsport Australia Championships / ARG Discussion

considering that the bulk of this series features ARG promoted series, instead of making a extra thread for it - decided to put it in this one. Updated the main post of this thread with the 2021 schedules (for now) for both Shannons Motorsport Australia Championships & other ARG promoted events.

Sandown was delayed a week to remove a conflict between it & the Supercars schedule.

-

ARG starts their season this weekend at Symmons Plains with S5000, TCR Australia, Touring Car Masters, Trans-Am TA2, Improved Production, HQ Holden's & Hyundai Excels on the cards.

As per usual with S5000 - discussion for that series is in it's own thread
