After a off season that featured some big changes (including a new series), the 2020 racing season for TA2 cars in Australia begins this weekend at Adelaide - with the debut of the all new Trans-Am Australia (National Trans-Am Series) championship, run by ARG (which also promotes the S5000, TCR Australia & Touring Car Masters).
Trans-Am Australia will race 4 of their 6 rounds under Shannon's Motorsport Australia Championships, with 2 others being with Supercars (at Adelaide), and the new Bathurst International event (run by ARG).
George Miedecke & Aaron Seton were fastest in the 2 practice sessions on Thursday. 19 cars are pre-entered for the race weekend. Coverage of this weekend's races will be on FOX Sports 506, Network Ten & Kayo in Australia, and Sky Sport in New Zealand.

the 2020 season for Trans-Am will begin next week at Sebring, which is alongside the annual SVRA weekend at the track. As usual with current era Trans-Am, there will be 2 races across the weekend - TA1 will once again race alongside XGT / SGT, and TA2 will run on their own.
60 cars total are pre-entered (as of February 15th) between both races:
TA1 features 12 entries, the all-new XGT class for older spec GT3 cars will see 4 cars, SGT features 11 cars & GT features 3 cars.
TA2 currently has 30 cars pre-entered into the event.

TA2 Muscle Car Series will also continue in Australia, running under the AMRS card once again - following a split with the ARG group, as the PBR group wanted to continue it's spec Howe chassis / LS platform (while ARG went fully under the US-based rulebook for TA2, which allows 2 other chassis manufacturers). The series will feature it's season opener next weekend at Winton. SBS & FOX Sports 506 will have television coverage of the series.
