In total, 78 cars and five classes participated in two practice sessions with Amy Ruman, Dillon Machavern, Lee Saunders, Brian Kleeman and Conor Flynn leading their respective classes to kick off the 2016 Trans Am Championship.

TA2 rules package has debuted in Australia, with the Trans Am Series over there that runs under a historic rules package

8 cars at Lakeside Park this weekend in the Australian TA2 Series. Hearing it could be up to 17 cars by the end of the year, with more orders going out to the chassis & engine builders

Only races on the schedule so far is this weekend at Lakeside & in 2 months time at Queensland

according to the Road America TV broadcast, sounds like there will be some changes for TA1 soon. The series will be putting in a 5 year rule for bodies soon, and there will be 2 new bodies to go along with this year's new Ford Mustang body (those being a Camaro & Challenger).

Trans-Am has added a separate championship for the Western region of the USA. 4 races for 2017 at Spring Mountain, Fontana, Portland & CoTA
